2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

To be fair he did have significantly more goes than the other managers and with far better teams.

Agreed, but I think some people used to be harsh on his derby record because he didn’t win at Anfield. He’s got our biggest PL win over them (the 3-0) and you’ve got to go back to the 60s before you see any results better than that one agaisnt that lot. He outplayed a very strong Liverpool team over 2 legs and won it in extra time in the cup (can barely imagine us getting close to that now).

The semi final was disappointing but I think people at the time overestimated our team (without our best player Pienaar) and underestimated how good Suarez was for them. Ultimately if Distin doesn’t do that back pass we probably win that as well. There were a few others he should have got over the line (if Howard doesn’t jump in on Kuyt for no reason we win at Anfield) and there were a few times he was downright robbed by scandalous refereeing.

I got more annoyed at the times they went down to 10 and we somehow contrived to lose much more than the cup semi. I remember us having an annoyingly bad injury record for derbies as well with Arteta especially missing a lot of them when he was in his peak.

It would be hard for Leicester to come away beaten on Saturday and not have their confidence totally shot to pieces when they see a 9 point gap to ourselves in the table. The derby would become a free hit for us, which is handy as I can see us losing that one easily. Funny how things can turn around so quickly where we could clock up a third win on the bounce on Saturday and be really getting forward momentum, or lose Leicester and the RS and the following game becomes huge to get out of a losing run.
Depends how Wolves get on - even if Wolves win and we beat Leicester, Leicester are still only a win from 17th. I'd imagine we're not the ones they're currently looking at

Spurs fans are starting to worry a bit about relegation, and that’s with a much better squad than ours and with them being higher in the table than us

If they consider themselves in a precarious enough position to start worrying, then I don’t see why we shouldn’t still be wary
Well they have only gotten 5 points from the last 11 games, 2nd worst in the league of course they are starting to worry, we on the other hand have won 2 on the bounce and have some confidence coming back.. Both will be fine as the current bottom 4 are not very good at all.

The situation at spurs at the moment with their injury concerns should be a warning to us as well. We are doing well right now but we have now picked up some injuries to key players. We’ll see where we are after the window closes but this could still be a very nervy end to the season for us.
Yes it should, but i dont see Moyes with lots of injuries keeping the FBs as high up as the corner flag and our CBs on the halfway line.

Im amazed he (Big Ange) hasnt tried to grind out a few results with their injury crisis, they could sit deep and hurt teams with the attacking options they have.
Hi stubborness might be his downfall very very soon.

Bookies have us at 8.5/1 to be relegated and Spurs at 25/1 . I know they have alot of injuries but considering we have a game in hand plus a very realistic chance of going ahead of them this weekend it just seems very big odds for them currently

….linked with plenty of players this window, I can see them spending to bring in a few expensive recruits.

Once Spurs get players back they will win games. They are far from a good team, but they aren't a relegation contender either.

Exactly, it's clueless football management at its finest. By all means go all out with a high line with your best team, but to flatly refuse and say "it's my way or no way" is quite frankly embarrassing and shows a severe lack maturity

Once they start getting players back fit they'll more than likely start stringing a few results together and move up into mid-table.
