2024/25 Relegation Thread

Why do some of our fans love to big up other teams and make out like they are far better than they are?

Palace are awful - that's why they became the first team in well over a season to let us come back from behind and win... since they last let us do it to them the other season.

We aren't great but we won't be going down this season. Southampton and Ipswich are certs for relegation, and Wolves and Palace will probably be in trouble for a while. A couple of other teams will get dragged down there too, and we may or may not be involved, but will comfortably stay up in the end.

As some others have said, if you are going to exclude Palace and Wolves from relegation, who does that leave exactly apart from us and the promoted three.

I do think Palace will be absolutely fine, Wolves less, so thats one perhaps.

Ipswich and Saints will go, I think Leicester will be more dogged. On the evidence of Saturday, we will find it hard to establish a gap between us and them or whatever side it is in 17th.

Saturday was a terrible reminder of just why we are where we are. Fulham are no big deal and we couldn't or didn't want to give them a game. There are no free hits in this league, that's clear at least for us. If we had played them in April and the table was tight I could understand tension but I can't find anything redeeming in that performance, other than they did eek out a thoroughly undeserved point in the end. Dyche will sack himself in the end with these performances and he cannot have any complaints.

Way too early to exclude Wolves. The point at Brighton could save their season but they still need to win the must win games. Palace with the confidence of yesterday could easily go to Molinuex and turn them over and then they're back to square one, infact that's the better result for this club as Palace will win enough games at Selhurst Park to be comfortable.

Need to be beating them at Goodison as I really don't see many other wins in December.

Everyone by the bottom 3 or in it, is involved in the relegation fight, If they are better than their postion or not. I never get teams getting ruled out by some just because of who they are. even more so when one of those has had 1 win in 8months. Remember when Leicester got relegated and we heard consistently week after week they would pull away because they were better than the others. All this we have to be 5points or more clear at xmas, or going into December, i dont agree with. We alot of the time always do bad for a while then start the run after xmas (half the time way after it). I for one expect us to be safe the end of the season

Easy wins no but would you set an Everton team up to play on the counter against Fulham at home ? They finished 13th last year , thirteenth and they arrived at goodison on the back of two defeats .

I don’t expect us to be top four, I don’t expect us to be prime Real Madrid but li can’t process the idea that a 94th min snatched equaliser at home against Fulham is a good day
Not a good result for me neithe and the way we set up is frustrating, I was merely pointing out whichever way you look at it it's not an easy 3 points any longer against your Fulham's and Brighton's, yes we should be beating these sides but we still don't have the squad to be doing much better..

Not sure what the difference between us palace and wolves, most of the teams down there. Is beacuse we all watch evwrton and dont really follow the others when actually all the teams in the same situation

Homestyly have no idea who they even get in, i think is one of the most difficult jobs in europe. The whole club does not want to give time to build a team and just look so far away from it.
Yeah it’s a difficult one, they act like they are an elite club who should be contending for the title but on and off the pitch they are miles off. They’ll probably be hoping RVN gets a few results and they can just go with him.

Nah if it's not Dyche it has to be Sir Gareth Southgate

I try and keep telling myself that other teams are bad and we are better than we think…

…then I watch us play.

For 80 minutes that was an appalling performance on Saturday. Shows how bad things are that people nowadays don't see 1 win from homes v Brighton, Bounemouth, Palace, Newcastle and Fulham as that big a deal.

Need to be getting a better winning ratio soon at Goodison to be comfortably mid table as just 4-5 home wins over the season isn't going to cut it.
