2024/25 Relegation Thread

They had 2
They looked awful against us. It's fine saying they have easier fixtures but if you can't defend set pieces you've had it. Even against bottom half teams.

Jep, they scored 23 goals in 15 games, which is on the other side a value that could have u in the top half with a somewhat good defensive record, but damn they made us look like Arsenal at set pieces.

@GrandOldTeam posted something yesterday that points to the fact that, historically, sides that score loads but concede loads are often more likely to go down compared to those that score few but also concede few. Wolves are the example this season - Luton were last season.

I'd say that was the point why we stayed up over Leicester in 22/23. Individually that was one of the most surprising relegation in the last few years. Their squad was pretty good back then. With that I mean mid table.

Despite we slightly hit over 1 goal under most of our most managers since Big Sam every season, mostly our goals conceded was not that worrying.

Think whoever or anyone who brings Moyes in has a shot mate, especially if he had a window and was able to get a centre half.
Dont think would go to wolves think him and potter have already said no because of how thinngs set up at wolves. Is a strange situation because i am shocked oneil is still in a job, i thought moyes would go to leicester i think now prob wont go to another club this season imo. I think both west ham and wolves would go for another choiceo

Complacency? Looking at our December fixtures I’d take not being cut adrift in the bottom 3 by January 1st. They tend to all be fixtures that our manager writes off as not having a hope in so might as well not bother trying.
Not even gonna be close to any of that happening. We won’t even be in the bottom three by Jan. We had a shocking August, and supposedly broke all these records for our worst start etc, yet still safe. This run of games will not end up as bad as we think, even if it does the teams below are somehow worse than us.
We’ve tried our best to get relegated the last couple of seasons, even got docked lots of points, we can’t get relegated. More chance of a Beto hat trick than us going down.

I think this is quite delusional. Our manager has been relegated twice. You can’t just keep saying “we were fine the last 3 seasons so we can’t go down”. Eventually it’ll catch up with you.

The fact we are even contemplating such a scenario after finishing mid table is a disgrace on behalf of the manager.

Ignoring Lopetegui's signings I'd only have:
Kudus
Bowen
Paqueta (aside from his charges)
Alvarez

He was there 2017-2018 & 2019-2024

In all that time, aside from 3 expensive foreign signings and a great pickup from the championship...his squad is pretty dreadful. Where is the youth development?

Its a massive no from me.

I think Wolves have PSR issues which is why theyve been selling players.

Ait-Nouri & Cunha are by far their best players. Their Brazilian midfield experiment with Andre and Joao Gomes seems to have failed.

My guess is that they make a big sale (Ait-Nouri?) to open up PSR for them to be able to invest in new players.

Erm....Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea are all teams he's beaten whilst managing Everton. Forest and Bournemouth too. So are you talking about Man City?

Most previous managers (rightfully) struggled against those teams too and most struggled to get a result.

But who cares about facts. BOOOOOO
