2024/25 Relegation Thread

That’s the thing for me. We have lost a couple of games or whatever in ten or something which seems really creditable but the problem is we are stuck like a limpet at the bottom of the table. A win is massive down at the bottom of the table but Dyche just plays the percentage of getting a point a game. Might pay dividends in the long run but it is a risky business and does nothing for the blood pressure

we have no plan whatever it’s borin

break everton and
you’ve won

This time last season we had 16 points and had also been given a 10 point deduction. So we’d actually won 26 points on the pitch. I’m interested to find out how we can possibly be looking at this team being 11 points worse off at the same stage of the season as being just fine and expected. We haven’t weakened the team by 11 points.
Player form has played a huge part...if you see doucoure, compare to last year it's night and day. Doucoure was key for us last season, and then the injuries to key players that did fantastic last season like branthwaite initially and garner more recently. Garner was great in that little run just after the point deduction alongside onana in the middle...this year we haven't see him as yet really.

Not at all but if we lose we lose, they’ve clearly got miles better players after spending almost a billion.

Not exactly a mental correlation between the two.

Didn’t we beat them last season at goodison?

Chelsea always struggle at Goodison so that's something to be positive about. Think they've won once since 2016 and that was a penalty in a 1-0 on opening day of 2022 season.

They've been going under the radar a little but all the talk will be next week of them winning to go top so that pressure might impact on them as it's been that sort of season for anyone in the top half.

RS had the chance to pull clear but they're now dropping points regularly and Arsenal have had their own poor run in last two months.

Got a feeling we might get something Sunday, seemed to have turned a corner defensively on the whole.

Like it or not but rarely conceding gives you a chance in almost any game. Even that Arsenal game imagine if we’d nicked one on the counter or from a set piece.

That’s the only feasible reason I can see dyche lasting the season.

If we can spend money in January I’d be rolling the dice though.

Well no of course because if you thought we were that good then you’d have to admit that this manager is underperforming this season. You either think we fluked the points last season, in which case we can put the manager’s credit for that in the bin, or you think we are severely underperforming this season in which case the manager should be criticised for that.

Id say it was in the middle. He did well last season, but not as well this.
