2024/25 Relegation Thread

Not looking forward to the Forest game. They are flying and going to Brentford and winning as comfortably as they are is not an easy thing. With the pace they have Dyche will put out a very pragmatic team for that imo e.g. Harrison starting.

Losing to them would not be good at all if the next two don't go great and January is a very tricky month.
See no reason why we cant give them a game and get a result. This team is alot better than results have shown
I sort of think Palace too.

But Wolves look in the worst shape. It's why I didn't mind Ipswich winning their last week 1 bit.
Said this untill out of it cant just say teams safe palace still massively in the race for the drop.
I'd keep an eye on Brentford. Eight ahead of us right now but played two more games than us and they have Brighton, Arsenal, City and Liverpool in the next 5 PL matches.
Agree with the home record had kept them up the table if that goes then with the away record could be in trouble.

Man City have now lost 9 of their last 12 games.

Dare we look at that game with a little confidence or will it be normal service, whereby Everton hand a struggling side a confidence boosting win?

We've all been here before
Yep, my heart sank when I saw them lose again today. They are absolutely going to batter someone shortly aren't they? nailed on.

Relegation with 20 points.

Probably end up on what Luton did last season, 26 points? They'll win a couple of home games eventually even if it's just against likes of Wolves and Southampton.

Their away form is actually decent for a promoted club so that is the bemusing thing and why so many promoted teams can't stay up as Burnley were also shocking at home for most of last season.

They beat Forest at home 3-0 a few weeks back.

Can't go there and concede in first 20 minutes. Keep it 0-0 and their crowd will start moaning.

Lampard got a 1-1 there when he was churning out terrible performances at Goodison, similar time of the year aswell.

Palace are one point ahead having played one game more? They have exactly the same record as we do with a draw in their extra game. I don’t expect them to go down but if they’re easing away, so are we.

Palace taken 7 points from Spurs, Villa and Brighton in last ten. Give them a run of bottom half teams and they'll be well clear. Mateta and Sarr starting to click upfront.

Eze injured again though, really don't get why they kept playing him in the cup. Would be like starting Branthwaite in the league cup and then he pulls up and is out for another two months.

Forest are 3rd after nearly half a season but yeah, will be a walk in the park 😂

January is very hard.

Bournemouth away is a real jinx fixture and they're a comfortable mid table team. Haven't beaten Spurs or Villa at Goodison in ageeeeesssss. Dyche has generally a very good record at Brighton but again you can't be sure of getting a result there with some of their results this season.

It does feel like Forest is a must win but far far harder to win than Wolves was for obvious reasons.

Dyche dosen't win any of the next six and he's getting sacked, I think everyone is pretty clear on what the new guys are going to be all about so long winless winter runs are not going to be tolerated this time.

Maybe but they're already on about 22/23 points? In reality they just need four wins from 22 to stay up. Won't be quite as poor away in second half of the season either, hopefully they'll get points at Ipswich, Wolves and Leicester.

The bottom three is quite clearly coming from five teams now Palace are easing away from safety.
Palace are 2 points ahead of us and will have played 2 games more by tonight. If they lose against Arsenal they're in it still.

A victory tomorrow and I'll almost feel that relegation is virtually impossible. Game in hand on the rest, still got Ipswich and Southampton at home, can't possibly be as bad in the second half of the season as we have in the first half. Just take the points ffs and give us a happy Christmas and top off a great week for the club.

No matter what way you look at fixtures and runs of games the reality is you play 38 games, 19 home and 19 away and everyone else does the same .
3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss.
Add them all up at the end. That's all that counts. For what it's worth I'll have us 10 plus clear of the bottom 3 and finishing about 14th or 15th.

Beginning to think every single game we have left is a tough game because every month is hard, while the same games other teams have are easy, the way some carry on  We had to not be the bottom 3 by xmas to make some seem ok, but again the same few come up with other reasons to think off

Sarr looking the business, great finish v Arsenal.

Mateta, Sarr and Eze is too good to get relegated and Palace are fine at the back aswell.

Good test of the new ownership is to have that type of quality in the front 3 in 18 month's time. Probably going to need a new manager aswell to get that type of quality.
