2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

Using 2 loanees and a lad we signed for a mill to claim we misspent 100 mill is a very odd take amico

Just a bit.

Also think Bournemouth had 1 player who cost more than every outfield player we had. I think Evanilson and Ouattara cost more in transfer fees than all this lot put together. Certainly will be when you lash Adams in who they had on the bench.

It's despicable how we've been run into the ground.

It seems only when Dyche is removed will fans start to demand money be invested into the team. We've been absolutely gutted.

….on reflection, I accept he’s brought in real talented individuals, transitioned players and contracts to ensure we have continuity and fully exploited the loan system with effective footballers who are really making a difference :hayee:
You go on about it all the time and completely ignore financial constraints, all v strange

For about 5 windows we have needed wingers and all we have been given is Lindstrom (no goal in 65 games) and Jack Harrison. Twice. Never mind the £50m he has wasted on a complete inability to find an even half decent striker (Maupay, Beto and Chermiti.)

Also, some of Thelwell’s signings showed promise but got injured early or haven’t been shown the light of day by Dyche. Giving someone a chance on the pitch creates excitement for the player. Sitting them while training perpetually and being forced to watch their team sink and having starters as old as their parents play before them builds resentment and a desire to get sold as quickly as possible. Look at Jake. I feel for him. Looks miserable and dejected. I see a young guy, younger than Coleman and Young, tough, tall, but nope. Gets binned. Has to suck for those guys.

….i’ve continually said it’s a lot more difficult with limited spend but it’s when a top DOF earns his big bucks. I don’t see that as ‘strange’, it’s just that I think he gets an easy ride.

It’s a reasoned viewpoint even if it’s only me making it away from Dyche mania.

But even if we had cash, we couldn’t really spend it given PSR issues arising from the ludicrous contracts that are still running down (Keane and Doucoure for example) and a pathetic commercial strategy in terms of trying to increase revenue in recent years. At the same time, we have signed NDaye, Beto, Lindstrom in the last 18 months to name three. So there has been some inbound activity too.

Watching Ipswich, even as an ardent Everton fan it's hard to make any case to a football fan of any other PL club why we should or will stay up ahead of the likes of Ipswich and Wolves at the moment.

At least both try to play football and show some attacking intent to get their fans excited.

Our anti-football atm is worse than anything I've ever seen, even more than under Fat Sam and that was an abomination.
