2024/25 Relegation Thread

Why Palace? especially away. Their form has picked right up in recent weeks.

Palace will be absolutely licking their chops. However, we're in such a dire position we need to be looking to win games like that, because let's be honest we're not going to win all the allegedly "easy" games we have, because we simply never do.

First post as a Town fan so hi to all.

So what is this fantastic Premier League we were all promised? After two wonderful seasons I'm hating virtually all of it, can't even watch our games now. From hope following Wednesday's results midweek to despair again after a really poor effort against Brighton.

The main thing in our favour is that we have less to lose, and of course consistency and a great manager, just still not convinced there's three worse teams than us (two certainly). You did a great professional job on us in October. West Ham don't look great, we play them last game.

All good fun..
Sorry mate but this is indeed what it is.

Paraphrasing George Carlin 'It's a big club, and you ain't in it.'

And that goes for everyone outside of a certain elite few.

What on earth were you expecting? A run at the title?

I'll make it easy for you.

Leicester have conceded the joint most in the league. They currently have Frank Lampard V2 managing them.

Factor in "Everton, that" and Dyche to them would be a nightmare 😂
It'd slash our chances of survival dramatically.

Most people see it too. It's only the clueless few with their 'Dychettes' bollocks that have their heads up their arse that dont.

We genuinely still may go bust if we go down (though now that FFP and the new ground are allegedly all resolved and ready, surviving may present a clean slate for us).

It’s very much the opposite of good fun when you consider those consequences.

For us, the frustrations comes from a decade of abysmal recruitment and management. Seeing clubs pass us that used to be easy pickings just hones what a dreadful job the merry go round of dreadful DOFs and managers have done.

I don't think Dyche could organise their defense, its championship level, proven by the fact its the one that already got relegated the other year  they also have a midfield of Winks and Soumare with a 38year old gassed Vardy up top.

He should wait for the Southampton job. Ive heard he's pretty good at getting 3 points for them.
Useless get.

Yeah, useless last season was he when he was getting this club out of a hole they'd made for themselves with the connivance of the PL and shouldered two points deductions and all the disruption that went with them?

Short memory.

Dyche will be turbo-driven motivation wise to get into Leicester and keep them up. I wouldn't blame him either.

If Leicester have any sense they'll be beating a path to Dyche's door at the moment.

And if that happens we are in some trouble.

Better pray WBA seal a deal for Dyche.

TBF Dyche came in a similar situation with Lampard as to what Leicester are in currently.

In the short term he could come in and give them a boost. Remember how bad things were and then he masterminded a 1-0 against the odds against Arsenal who were top at the time. Moyes desperately needs to dig a similar result like that out very soon. Then he won 1-0 against Leeds and Brentford with Gray upfront.

So I don't think it's that impossible he could go in at Leicester and give them a short term boost with a scrappy 1-0 or two.

Keep them in the mix and then they have Ipswich and Southampton at home right at the end of the season which would decide everything.

They'll be down by April keeping Van Nistelrooy for much longer so interested what they do in the short term. Dyche family home is also in Kettering isn't it so nice easy commute for him for once.

I think he'd take that job if offered pretty quickly.

Honestly just need to match Ipswich and we'll be more than fine, have to tonk Leicester at home though, no excuses for not winning that one, will genuinely worry if we don't.

If Moyes keeps us up this season we should consider him a miracle worker to be honest.

Right?

Thats how it works, right?
Why? We're we in the relegation zone when he came here? What would be miraculous in keeping us where we were when he arrived here?
