2024/25 Relegation Thread

It's not "1 football match" though is it? Ilm saying they need to be in a position to act fast if Moyes has us in the relehgation zone.

FFS.
Yes we have had our new manager for 1 match. A match which we did lose of course. But 1 match.

You are questioning the managers position after 1 game whatever way you put it. That's not supporting all Everton managers.

Ilm saying he's not safe in that job if he cant get us wins....and quick.

Tell me Ilm wrong.

You must be kidding. There's a load of managers in Europe who could come in and take a big pay day and try someone new.

Watch tomorrow if it's a loss. The panic will be tangible and most posters on here will be actively coming up with alternatives to Moyes as they realise he's a busted flush who cant get us safe.
And ruin their careers in the process by taking us down? Also, a manager coming in just for a pay day isn’t what we need. The players are the problem, not the manager, no-one could get a tune out of these at the moment which is why Moyes is constantly talking about bringing new players in.

Constantly? I think he's gone quiet win that hasn't he?

Seems like every interview he’s in, he mentions bringing players in. I’d rather the Friedkins get the chequebook out and get some much needed players in instead of wasting half our budget switching managers again which would have no effect anyway without adding players.

I'm telling you right now: if we get beat tomorrow the wheels will start to buckle on this club.

There'll be panic because most will think that's our fate: to be wedded to Moyes and we dont have the chance to twist again on a manager.

Well that better not be the attitude of the Texans.. They have to be ready to pull the trigger on Moyes and shift to someone else. And they better be shortlisting managers even now ready to go.

They've got how much tied up in Everton? If it were me I'd have two more games in mind and if we're in the relegation zone I'd get shut of Moyes and go again.

I wouldn't;t care what it looked like...then again, I wouldn't have been the clueless gets these Texans are in the first place to have hired the washed up Moyes.
Two weeks to window closing. Will only accelerate player acquisitions if anything imo.

Interesting point though - would have likely been the nightmare of manager change two weeks too late had Dyche still somehow been in charge, which he probably wouldn’t as let’s be honest, at best we might’ve got one more point in that time, than we have now.

Tomorrow will be tricky but I'm reserving judgement for Brighton and Leicester. Point tomorrow, point at Brighton and then obviously three v Leicester which is a must and season again has an air of just about doing enough when it is required to stay above 18th.

I agree panic stations if none of the next three are won as then got RS and Palace and Man. United who are finally picking up in a ten day period.

I'm less confident about away games now as West Ham had long spells of not winning under Moyes so really it's all on getting some points at Goodison now. It has to happen soon.

First post as a Town fan so hi to all.

So what is this fantastic Premier League we were all promised? After two wonderful seasons I'm hating virtually all of it, can't even watch our games now. From hope following Wednesday's results midweek to despair again after a really poor effort against Brighton.

The main thing in our favour is that we have less to lose, and of course consistency and a great manager, just still not convinced there's three worse teams than us (two certainly). You did a great professional job on us in October. West Ham don't look great, we play them last game.

All good fun..
First paragraph made me laugh, if it’s any consolation we’ve been up for 13 seasons and I still find myself feeling exactly like that for large chunks of every season. Clubs our size are always capable of putting together a good season or two, but all of us are only ever a few bad decisions and a bit of bad luck away from relegation. That’s the Prem for you!
