2024/25 Relegation Thread

Yes we have had our new manager for 1 match. A match which we did lose of course. But 1 match.

You are questioning the managers position after 1 game whatever way you put it. That's not supporting all Everton managers.
Dave isn't an Everton supporter. He's a caricature desperately seeking attention. I'd imagine his bathroom mirror is covered in spittle where he practices shouting at himself.

Moyes simply has to win today against a team made up of about 3 first choice players and the rest second or even third choice in their respective positions. "McNeil is injured" simply isn't an excuse for this fixture. Unless we get an early red card or score a few against the run of play own goals, every supporter must expect the side to win this.

Get us 4 points clear of Ipswich with a game in hand please.

Regardless we need other teams not fail further. No good us winning and them winning. The fewer points they get the better
Of course that as well, but wouldn’t it be nice to put our own points on the board ourselves, regardless of what that rest are doing and instead of relying on the others continuing to be a little worse than us?

Us winning and them all still losing is utopia, ideal world etc, and gets us out of the crap quicker, but regardless of that we need to start winning matches.

Honestly, I'd take a draw.

We need to start taking points now. We've had three consecutive league defeats and we need the new manager to make an impact.

A draw here, a result against Brighton and a home win versus Leicester and we will be looking better.

Are you and Dave taking turns?

I'm telling you right now: if we get beat tomorrow the wheels will start to buckle on this club.

There'll be panic because most will think that's our fate: to be wedded to Moyes and we dont have the chance to twist again on a manager.

Well that better not be the attitude of the Texans.. They have to be ready to pull the trigger on Moyes and shift to someone else. And they better be shortlisting managers even now ready to go.

They've got how much tied up in Everton? If it were me I'd have two more games in mind and if we're in the relegation zone I'd get shut of Moyes and go again.

I wouldn't;t care what it looked like...then again, I wouldn't have been the clueless gets these Texans are in the first place to have hired the washed up Moyes.
'I definitely know things in the future, as my recent record of prediction proves, so if this then that. There will be this because most think that will then be that, and we don't have this even though I'm telling you that that is what will be then.
They better not be that because they need to be ready to do the thing I'm predicting by then and they better be doing this to get ready for that if this becomes that.
They have a lot of that in this? If it were me I'd have then in mind if we are in this to do that and that again.
I wouldn't care about that, which is obvious to everyone who interacts with me, but then again, I wouldn't judge them on this or that or anything other than my predictive genius and this proves what I have said will then happen even though they are this and not that, but then again that wouldn't be the first time this was done then'

Eh? I'm sorry, have I not lowered expectations enough to your satisfaction or something?

Be delighted with a draw today. That would be one more point clear of Leicester and some kind of lift-off for Moyes.

I mean, if we were just going to write these games off as "expected defeats", we might as well not have bothered changing manager, waited another few weeks to see if our options had improved, and then appointed somebody.

Well I'd say it's definitely a must not lose game. That said against a weakened and our of form Spurs we really should get looking for all 3 points

Everton has to win at least 5 more games this season. We're past the half way point and we've only won 3 games. Assuming we'll win 5 is fanciful really. But you have to win home games against teams in and around you, and if you don't expect to win against teams who are missing literally 8 of their regular starters then you might as well accept relegation immediately.
