The Now-Irrelevant 2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

Your lot are going superb now mate, good to see Glasner given the time actually
Yes, there is a lot of belief in Glasner within the squad and he and his staff have improved a number of the squad through coaching. We have a bit more of a squad now and some competition for places and a couple of good youngsters coming through.
It won't last mind!

What's this Millwall player like Al? New one on me but a big fee for a Championship player

He, apparently. has all the necessary attributes to make it. Rowatt took him from Millwall's U18's and put him straight into the first team. The fans there rate him highly for his skills and work rate and interestingly, though they were sorry to see him go they thought the fee fair as long as there was a decent sell on clause within the deal (there is) - "Coz 'e ain't stayin' wiv vat lot fer long". They see him playing for a top club at some point. Hopefully he is of the Eze, Olise, Wharton calibre.

Where does he play?

Be great to just finish as high as we can because of prize money but atm i am just looking for us to increase the gap from the bottom. Then start to look to jump ahead teams above, hope chelsea can win tonight

If Wolves lose tonight then they are on 16 points from 22 games same as Ipswich both in the final relegation spot.

That’s 0.7 points per game over a 22 game spell. Over a whole season that’s approx 27 points. Even if both of them suddenly increased their points tally to 1 per game for the remaining 16 then they will finish on 32 points.

Everton’s ppg game has remained on and just under 1ppg for most of the season. Even if we didn’t improve at all and stays at the same rate we would be looking at 38 points.

For Ipswich or Wolves to get to 38 points they need to go from 0.7 ppg to 1.3 for the remaining 16 games.

If we can widen the gap a bit more it will very quickly start to look like a 4 horse battle for relegation.

Not sure why you'd think we could bet on catching Palace for, they won 5 drew 5 out their last 11 games, only loss to Arsenal.

In that run got home draws against City, Newcastle, Chelsea, beat Brighton and West Ham away drew away at Bournemouth and Villa.

They're in absolutely great form.
There's the possibility that Chelsea take back their CB (on loan to them) which could affect them.

Think we had the discussion here about Glasner in the past and I thought if you stick with him yous get the reward, that Frankfurt side he built was a joy to watch, think long as you have him you'll be not looking over your shoulder all season at least.

To put it another way, we need around 4 wins from our remaining 17 games for safety (takes us to 32 points plus whatever draws we pick up).
fwiw I think we'll pick up around 15/16 points which takes us to 35/36 points overall.

Would be great to catch West Ham and put ourselves in with a chance of moving up a few places. This team will improve again when the threat of relegation is out of the question. Like last year when we won 3 in a row

Macatee would be some signing. Think he could aim higher though
Would city make the same Cole Palmer mistake though?

Guardiola has always had the thing said about him that if any player ever asks to leave due to his playing time then he'd never step in their way mate, I think he's genuine about that too - as he's done so in the past with players he didn't want to leave.

Would the lad come here though, depends on a lot of factors but if we don't even think he would then it's self fulfilling. Personally if we sold the project enough to him and how central he was to it then maybe he would, the Ball family connection could actually play a factor too as well as how close we are to were he grew up and still lives.
