Man for man, we're actually stronger this season than last. Minus Onana, plus O'Brien, Lindstrom and Ndiaye.
That being said, as demonstrated yesterday, the manager can hijack and undo all of that with his obsessive behaviour towards certain players.
He hasn't learned lessons from last season - if he had then he wouldn't have started with that XI yesterday. We can only hope he immediately realises and drops Doucoure, Harrison and Keane for Spurs in place of Ndiaye, Lindstrom and O'Brien.
We all know he won't, though. So that'll be two games forfeited already.
Basically anybody aside from Holgate or Keane should be at right back. Who is our most promising youngster there?
The failure to call on u23 players to give them an opportunity over PROVEN losers like Holgate is infuriating. It's not possible for them to be substantially worse than him.
So, we should be easily safe this season, IF the manager decides to use his squad properly. Going off yesterday though he's going to make it much harder than it needs to be.
