You just don’t buy players that aren’t good enough, regardless of how the payment is structured. Simple as that.

Like every club makes perfect transfers that are guaranteed?

The club has used the same excuse for 2 January windows. Look at the fume that caused.

Look at Maupay. Absolutely horrid for us but has almost scored more goals than our strikers combined for Brentford. Averages 10 a season with Brighton. "No good enough". For us. Yeah.

The point is more about the structure of deals and not about the player. You can't be saying "he should have bought this player" when you've no idea what the deal is and what our limitations are.

Hudson Odoi cost Forest £5mill. He's apparently on £80k a week (from the £120k he was on at Chelsea). Danjuma is probably on half that for example. And considering we're at something like 90% wage to turnover, it's a big factor.

Villa got rid because he's 38 and they're looking at champions league/European football. We are looking in skips outside of Lidl

Chermitti was bought with the idea of developing and selling high. Beto scored goals in Italy, fits the type of football. Strikers cost money. Good ones cost more. It's £6mill over 4 years and can be sold on so it's not like we could be stuck with him.

Over the "good get rid of Thelwell too" in my book isn't a great idea as it's almost an impossible job as you're not scouting players you're balancing finances too.

How does Beto ‘fit the type of football’? He looks strong but actually falls over as soon as anyone touches him. He can’t hold the ball up and his first touch is terrible in a league in which you don’t get a second.

Wins 90% of his arial duels and is physical, mobile.

He's a Lidl version of Dom.

Adminstration looks likely at this point either now or, with the can kicked down the road a bit, early next season.

Clearly the club want it early next.

If it makes the future clearer and more stable would it be better to get it done now and get that slate wiped clean
But then your daughter and the rest of the gossiping office staff won’t get paid! 😱

He’s 6ft 4 and our managers main attacking tactic involves an order to ‘hit the big man’ so in that regard he’s perfect.
Starts to go wrong when the ball actually arrives with him.

All of this really, great post

He didn’t need to loan Danjuma for £3m when Callum Hudson-Odoi was available on a permanent for the same price. He didn’t have to pay £26m on Klarna for Beto when we already had Ellis Simms and Tom Cannon who would contribute exactly the same. He didn’t have to sign off on the signing of a 38 year old when there were other free transfers available.
Hudson Odoi had been garbage for Chelsea, that’s the reason he was available so cheap. He was a big gamble and that’s why only a relegation team were interested. Also I’m not sure the deal forest gave him, but they’re stuck with him for X amount of years. Who says dyche wouldn’t have kept him on the bench
