You wouldn't really have expected Charlie Chaplin in 1940 to be the voice of man (one of his very rare speaking roles). The things he says here covers most of the problems the world is still suffering with! Crazed dictators send men to battle as cannon fodder. Crooks running our countries. Man suffering for no reason other than being poor. It does makes you think this clip from the dictator, but the reality is also very sad that we are still 'controlled' the same way..

I've always rated this as the best speech ever made. And here it is from a comedian famed for silent comedy.

It was used to great affect by Paolo Nutini in his song Iron Sky. I first heard it being belted out from some speakers on a remote bit of the Thames, late in the evening after several beers with a fellow boater.

Hairs standing up on the back of the neck doesn't come close.
