Good times.

Coming to the end of Primary school which I just loved, and going into High School.

Kissing girls for the first time, doing a Maradona on everyone in school (the good one).

Great music, great films, Olympics had been and I always remember old Daley kicking ass, and then the Blues ruled.

Music wise and film wise I thought we could share memories from that period.

For me listening to the charts was a regular event on a sunday. This is one that I always remember from 87.

It was a period of joy.

You missed the accompanying boss fashions there.

Oh but of course. The lumo socks and Adidas Tango trainers.

I'll be honest I listen to 80's music, watch 80's films and sport and I do well up. I really miss that period of my life more than any other.

The 80's are back mate.

Haven't you seen the kids walking around today?

I think it must be different in your neck of the woods.

They know nothing mate.

Do they know about Speak and Spell? Can they appreciate the awesome wonder that is new technology like Ceefax and Oracle? Do they even own a Subbuteo set?

They're the generation raised by the generation who were raised by the generation who discovered drugs free love and what-not.

Don't have much hope for them myself.

Mate at the moment it's all about cloning [Poor language removed], and selling people [Poor language removed] they don't need, and entertaining them with [Poor language removed] they don't want, even though they don't know they know it. I mean who the **** wants to listen to two irish ****s with ****ty hair try and sing on a Saturday night? **** it, I'll whack a bit of Queen on, or Whitesnake.

I discovered last night, that things that appear during their time that you don't really like, or you kind of think copy someone else, will affect someone somewhere. Given time these things even out and the thing you thought was a copy of something else actually gets put on an equal pedestal by those who weren't around to experience it first hand.

Thats why kids today love the 80's, we who were old enough to touch it, hold it in some kind of magical memory bank, while our parents (mine anyway) look back on it and think WTF were we doing?

If that makes sense...

Well the 90's was more me....

Naar, the only thing id bring back from the 80's would be Everton!!!!

The rest is frankly.....

To 80's.

Left school in 82, the next 10 years was probably the best I have has so far. Personally speaking i lived life to the max. Footie, beer, women and travelling. Arrrr memories

*drifts off into reminiscing mode*

Left high school in 84 and ruled college for 2 years as the only Everton supporter seemingly living in North Manchester!
Started my first job in 1986 and everybody was envious as again, I was the only real Evertonian :)

They were good times indeed. Followed by several bad ones (n)

Those manure were resentful and hated us as they were still mid-table failures living on past achievements. (Similar to Spuds) I couldn't go shopping to Manchester Arndale in my colours in fear of being thrown off a balcony back in those days.

The problem we had was that we never replaced the out-going players with the same.
We were too good too early. If we had that team when the Prem and Sky got going only a few years later, all the money would have come to us and we would have ruled all this time (y)
Sorry, daydreaming again!!! :D
