hi lads

been readin the forum since seamie signed last january. you wouldnt believe how happy i am for the lad for breaking into the team there. hes total gent and a fantastic footballer. was so good for us (sligo rovers) when he was here, was gutted to see him go but happy for him as it was obviously a great move for him and knew he had the ability to go far! he's a down to earth lad, im sure its hard for him away from his family, his biggest fans, but hes done so well. hoping to get over for a few games soon. i think moysey needs to give him a run, i promise he wont let ye down

He is fast becoming a crowd favourite, just for his attitude alone. He's not daunted by anything that is thrown at him, and he can play a bit too.

Welcome to the forum from the North of the Island by the way (y)

yeah hes settled in brilliant. delighted for him, couldnt happen to a nicer fela

Welcome mate...I don't think any of us see him letting us down, at least in the work rate department. As Moyes said, he's just being cautious with him because of experience. We've all been pretty impressed with him so far, though...he looks a gem.

I reckon Seamus is the result of good karma for you getting to have the great distinction of William Ralph Dean playing for Sligo....7 matches, 10 goals. Unless it's been broken, I think Dixie is also the only player to play in an FA and FAI Cup Final.

**Edit**

Or was it score in an FA and FAI Cup Final...my trivia knowledge is not up to par these days. Help me out here Monty...

Dean was way before my time as well but if you're an Evertonian, you know Dixie. And yes, he was a great player...37 hattricks, 60 goals in one season and damn near a goal a game average after over 400 appearances. Great really doesn't even begin to describe him in all honesty.

Anyhow, back to Colonel Mustard...I don't think he'll see too many minutes with us for the rest of the season unless we hit another injury nightmare and I can see him starting next season on loan (Sheffield Wednesday perhaps, now that Irvine's there) so he can get more first team football but I have a feeling by the end of next season he'll be very close to starting for us as long as he continues to progress, which I fully expect as he's got the right attitude.

Welcome along mate

Coleman definitely has the potential but he's being used sparingly so that he can get a feel for the team & pace of the game here. It's a huge step to go from (without being disrespectful) a league such as the Irish 1 to the Premiership at such a young age. Every appearance will do him good, whether it's coming on at the end or from the start. Moyes will ease him in to avoid burnout & to keep the pressure off & I think it's best a good way to do things.

I've been really impressed with him, he has a lot of potential & when if he started at the weekend I’d have no worries about him. I think it’d be a big ask for him to play every week at this stage of his development but with the players we have I don’t think he’ll be asked to, can’t wait to see how he progresses.

yeah hes class alright.

another talent local sligoman Sean Kerr is heading to Everton tomorrow to have a look around and maybe sign. He's even better than Seamie, wait til ye see this kid. 54 goals in 33 games two years ago for the reserves, i believe he's signing thursday or friday
