8 points off top despite a few iffy performances, real signs throughout the early part of the season that this team is growing & maturing together, injuries clearing, a transfer window where we may get stronger ...

We drew, away from home, in the Premier League.

The signs are good, very good. Let us continue our good work under the radar, come May I'm thinking we may be surprising a lot of people.
I like your positivity! I'm over it now - it was a crap second half performance (from manager and players alike) but I can't see it having a huge negative effect on morale as some are saying. TBF, Bournemouth deserved a point because they had the right attitude 2nd half and we had the wrong one. Hard lesson learned about complacency, but let's hope they've got it out of their systems now and can kick on. We've got some good players coming back (and on the bench), we're scoring freely and have some of the best young talent in the league learning their trade in our colours. What's not to love?

Tuesday night will be a tough match but it's a huge opportunity and this team knows it. COYB!

Well, last week I posted boasting that my 'arl fella was the reason we have been winning at home lately.

Sadly, yesterday its the opposite. My son was one of the pitch invaders and whilst clearly not entirely to blame, they are the reason why additional time was played. Me telling him this about 15 minutes after the game had ended was difficult for hime to take.

I still can't believe we blew it. Not just the result that's depressing, its the lack of taking the chance of building momentum and belief because they've just well and truly p1ssed on our chips as far as I'm concerned.

I know I said I'm done here, but you're clutching at straws ( not to mention trying to cloud the issue ) find one post where I ever said I wanted to go back to Moyes.

'I think the jury's in' eh...to quote reeves and Mortimer...'he wouldn't let it lie'
let history judge... or would that upset the gospel according to the disciples too much

I really am done but you keep talking blinkered tosh

I never said you did want Moyes back. You're responding to things you think is there rather than what actually is there.

The evidence is abundant and that's my point. It's not as if he's been here for two weeks. Martinez has transformed the way we play - is there any doubt about that? How is that in any way a stretch to claim?

these things happen in games from time to time,Not great granted but I'd rather focus on the goals and amount we are scoring at the minute at her than a barmy ten minutes in a game

That result was karma for us having the temerity to come back from 2-0 down against West Brom to win. Smacked down by the football gods for daring to do something so un-Everton like

99 times out of 100 their last attack would've resulted in nothing. Pure effing luck on Bournemouth's part, but also it's totally Everton.

These are the kind of points you rue when you just miss out on the top 4. We need to put together a mean winning streak now.

Style over substance?

We can play all the fancy flicks you want, but when you concede 3 goals in 10 minutes to the worst team in the league then you have to stop and ask questions.

Do you admit that Martinez hasn't got a clue how to organise a defence?
We're conceding far too many, but that's the price you have to pay when our players are so inexperienced at the back apart from Coleman and the game we pursue, which is one where we'll go and take the initiative and attack.

The GD ratio in our favour at the moment is 3:2 - I fully expect that to move even more in our direction as experience is gained about when to close a game down (which they were trying to do yesterday, btw, but sitting way too far back at 2-0).

Theyre not the worst team in the league, Bournemouth are in a false position, ive watched most of their games this season and theyve almost always been the best side on the pitch just haven't been ruthless enough up top

Doesn't take away from the fact we shouldve seen the game out, but they were always going to be a tricky game
C'mon mate, we've been talking ourselves up as Champions League contenders.

Bournemouth will more than likely be relegated this season. Not being able to defend a two goal lead with ten minutes to go and then even letting it slip with 15 seconds to go is a major concern.

Throughout his career, Martinez has proven he cannot organise a defence. It isn't good enough, he isn't good enough.

I think the jury is in, tbh. He's been a major success for us in the way we now play our football...football that gets results. Let's piut it this way: other than a small amount of people, no one would wish to go back to having Moyes or a Moyes type of manager at this club. Martinez has moved us on from that archaic nonsense.

He's not even close to being a success yet, nor is his style of play. Never forget your definition of success, you argued very hard with me over it when Moyes was in charge.. and as of yet we have won nothing under Martinez either.

But we defend like drunks

We score like a CL spot team and defend like a mid-table team.

I'd rather have that than the other way around.

Defensively we'll improve. But it cant be at the expense of our swashbuckling attacking approach. The game is also about entertainment, and this team is recognised as one of the most exciting teams to watch in the country.

Surely you're not saying we'd be better with the 'ale house' Jagielka ?

still took one heck of a header to score the 3rd v us,how many times would a fired cross into the area like that be headed over with the speed of it
