Andy Johnson is set to undergo an ankle operation in the summer for an ankle problem.
Johnson who has played through the pain barrier in recent weeks will have surgery on his LEFT ankle and not his troublesome right ankle which is currently sidelining him.
Head physio Mick Rathbone said “AJ has had this problem for a few months now and it is getting no better and he will have an operation once the season finishes”.
Although AJ is set to play in the last 2 games depending on whether he is fit enough after spraining his right ankle against West Ham at Upton Park in April.
Fans will be hoping he is fit though as the top goal scorer for the blues this season is crucial to the team if they want to grab a European spot which is hanging in the balance currently.
