I havn't heard anything on official news channels but someone has just phoned into the local radio station and said that Alan Ball has passed away. I believe he lives here on the south coast but I don't know if it's true or not. Has anyone heard anything?

Yes, I've just seen an article on the BBC site confirming it. Just 61 years old. Very sad.

i've just read the news. wow... serious shock. i can't believe it. he seemed so young and healthy. what a top man. just after posting about labby yesterday this seems surreal.
