Personally , that does not come , as they say , as a gob-smacking surprise .
Dresses loudly , ( often ) snarling irritable little bastards , constantly buzzing in one's , shell-like , and with a Mo'Fo' of a sting . As ever , God is bang on .
Apparently , until Autumn , until the drones , fed on a special jelly , then become able to mate with the Queen , it's an estrogen fest in wasp world .
Well , fuk my dog !!!
( I haven't actually got a pooch . It's a turn of phrase . Just to clarify . )

Having lived in the Highlands, right bang in the middle of a forest, we were plagued by the biting midge. Really, it was impossible to be outside in June and July. But it wasn't the blokes doing the biting. Nope, they were harmless and just went around shagging and getting eaten by bats. It was the women midges. They need to drink blood before laying eggs, or something.

Horrible things.
