We should, cos we bought the "best" midfielder in Italy and hes been legged everywhere.

I havent watched a serie A game since it was on Ch4, so I have no idea.
But Liverpool buying Keita, Spurs buying Nmbolele, all of these were considered shoe ins.

Just give me a solid 7 out of 10 player every week. You have a handful of those type of players, you have a good team.
Which is fine? But again, why do we need to always scout in the PL? We get absolutely ripped off and then wonder where people like Kante come from.
To pick up the likes of Kante takes a massive, massive amount of luck, it also requires a scouting network that has the power to make decisions like that.
Which we need to build. I'd much rather we took a punt on a foreigner for cheap than an enormous sum on Kalvin Phillips myself.
Spending big in the PL is why we've been left with Soggy, Keane etc. here and why our finances are so dire.

Tbf we aint getting a in your prime allan or anyone else for that matter. He played in a very good Napoli side though, where those good players around him meant he could do his job. His debut for Everton v spurs was the allan i saw in a few napoli games. The lack of any quality or depth in Evertons midfield though really exposes others aswell. Imagine playing at the top of serie A and CL football and then coming to play alongside gomes and iwobi.
Personally I dont think Phillips is all that, but I get the fellas point, I also appreciate your point.
Thats why you need both.

But didn't we have all that when the PE Master was appointed DOF(all)? I mean, he spent a whole week in Italy scrutinising the entire SerieA network and came back with, er, Chablis wasn't it.
We've been obsessed with spending big sums and a lot of that is because our scouting is obsessed with the PL.
There's about 10 championship players we should have signed in the last 5 years. I dont know what the issue is. Do we think we are better than these players? Because we definitely aren't.
