Those steel erectors must have been f'ing nuts.

Saw a documentary once were they had these Native Americans (for some reason suited to the work) doing handstands on girders hundreds of feet up.

Wonder how many fell off. You'd have had to have no arse to do that job but in them days there was a serious depression in the States and work would have been hard to come by. I suppose desperation made a lot of them go up there. I love my job now You used to be able to buy these pix as posters years ago. Theres one were theyre sat on a girder eating butties hundreds of feet up. Scary stuff.
