It is another example of how soft the club have become. Refs and the FA can do whatever they want and nobody from the club ever says boo no matter how much of an injustice has occurred. An opposing players revengeful actions result in giving one of our best players the most horrific pain he will likely ever feel and steals a year out of his career as well as leaves us weaker for the rest of the season and our captain is going into their dressing room to console him while our player is in an ambulance in agony with his foot pointed the wrong way.

We are absolutely pathetic nowadays tbh. One of the poorest ran clubs in the premier league.

Does he need to?

Seems a bit daft. I'm sure he will have contacted Gomes privately. That's more than sufficient.

Just the moral thing to do innit.

The way Spurs have gone on about Son's wellbeing etc it would be safe to assume they'd announce that he had contacted Gomes.

Well the moral thing to do is contact Gomes and wish him well. As you said, I think it's fair to assume this has been done.

The unnecessary, insincere PR thing to do is to make a public apology.

Gomes is a Footballer, tackles are an occupational hazard and this stuff happens unfortunately. He won't bear any ill will towards Son.

However, you can guarantee that he will get BOO'd when he comes back to Goodison next season.

Quite telling that the article linked earlier talked about how worried he was that people would think he'd done it deliberately, rather than how worried he was that he'd crippled a fellow pro. More bothered about his own image than the bloke who he put in hospital. Nice bloke though, salt of the earth.

Oh I'd imagine ever returning to Goodison would be far to difficult and emotional for poor old Son to cope with. He's such a sensitive, delicate little soul after all......:dodgy:

This isn't a great look for us.

Other than Stan, pinnacle of virtue, Collymore, nobody in the media are making Son out to be anything other than someone who's clearly been upset at the repercussions of his actions for a fellow professional.

Everyone knows it was unintentional. Nobody is saying he's the victim. Time to let it go.

Not sure where you've been this millennium, i have feeling not too far away, however, tackles from behind have been card offence for time now, for good reason as demonstrated Sunday afternoon. Thus football players can expect not to be tackled from behind these days...
