I replied to your message on my profile, but no idea how that works, so here it is again...
If you want a job where every single day you feel like you've made a positive impact on someone's life, then I would definitely recommend it.
You need "evidence of study at a higher level than GCSE" to get onto the diploma course - which basically means that even if you've failed your A-S Levels you can get on. But they're fazing that out and nursing is becoming a graduate-only profession. Both courses are the same length, and get you exactly the same job with the same pay at the end of it, and throughout your career as a nurse you do more courses and those who did the diploma end up with a degree eventually anyway.
The course is half study and half practical - meaning you'll do blocks of placements on wards.
