It's sad when you see things like that, but that was the state of play everywhere in the city in the 80s and 90s. Were making great strides to improve our image. The city centre is fantastic now, but the inner city areas, particulary in north Liverpool need regeneration.

Whether or not it can be done remains to be seen, but it won't happen overnight, it is going to take time.

What i will say is that there is good and bad areas everywhere, this is obviously a sad part of our city but and this video shows us in a negative light, but in my opinion, the positive far outwieghs the negative.

Thats a lot of bollox that mate.

That place is called Norris Green. And nearly everybody has been moved out. Some wont go but most have. It's been redeveloped bit by bit with European money and it's half done. Let me tell ye. It looks a dam site better than it did. It's still 60% building site.

Yeah I know mate, I wasnt ripping the area, I can see its getting worked on, the fact most of the estate is getting torn down proves that. Just found it interesting really.

It all seems such a waste. Those houses were not of an age that they should have needed to be replaced. Indeeed, you'll see estates of that era, & older, all over the country that have been maintained & not allowed to be destroyed - although I'm not claiming those scenes are unique to Liverpool. The video seemed to be half way to making a point but never quite delivering it.

i grew up in noggsy and it was a boss place to live, then the council decided to start moving the [Poor language removed] from everywhere else there and it was bye bye norris green, i got out in 2001 thats when it really started going pear shaped. half my mates lived on the boot estate and got moved out in about 2000, thats how long it's took to get to where they are now. the houses going back up on that site now are boss tho.

The thing that bugs me is that they, the City Council have neglected the likes of Kensington amongst other areas just outside the City Centre and beyond, yet built a load of weird looking buildings for those with money. LCC have got their priorities all wrong and are only interested in attracting more visitors into the Centre of Liverpool to line their own pockets.
