...how to install XP on a computer currently running on Vista?



I hate vista, its utter wank and want xp. Searching the net I find jargon about creating partitions and stuff which goes over the top of my head. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

My Dvd drive is broke so I cant boot XP from Cd which is a ball ache because all the idiots guides assume you have the cd when you reboot the computer.


I've taken it upon myself to compress the c: drive and see what happens. It wont let me shrink the partition as there is apparently on 53mb available whatever this means

Sounds like your computer is chockers, no wonder its slow. Clean some stuff from it. And you will need a dvd ir cd drive to install xp.

Download and install Partition magic if moving a partition parameter will assist mate.

If not, try to get another Laptop from someone and try to synchronise them via USB and do all your movement/updates from theirs.

have you looked into external dvd drives? i couldn't quote a price for you but you can get the kind that plug into your pc via usb. might be worth a try.
