Why 1 season?

Jags is 34 in a fortnight, Williams is 32 the week after, he's probably got 3 seasons left in him by the yardstick of our own captain ffs.

Personally I think we should have gone after Glik , went to Monaco for just around 10m , 28 year old 6ft3 , has been solid for years as Torino captain and had a great Euros .

Can't believe some of us don't want this guy for 10m. Even if we get only two years out of him, in this day and age, that's a steal, and it's a position of immense need. He's a proven commodity and has what we lack. I'll bite Swansea's arm off if we could get him for only 10m

He normally occupies the left sided centre half position for Swansea, he is a good distributor of the ball with a range of passing and one of the features of his game for Swansea and Wales was that long diagonal ball to the right sided midfielder.
He also did play the centre of three centre backs for Wales in the Euros, which could also open up another option for Koeman.

I'm still not convinced that we will sign him, he is captain of his current club and a firm favourite there and a key player in their success.

Gough, Weir, Watson, Distin. Had lots of good centre halves perform well into their mid thirties.

And when you're talking centre backs, there's no substitute for experience. Think how many times last season we looked proper shaky at the back and looked immediately more secure when Jags came back into the team.
