I think he's a solid, experienced defender going through a rough patch of form.
He's not 'done' at all.
seriously long time for rough patch of form though

Against forwards with pace we are in big trouble this season. One of the reasons we have been so turgid on the ball this season, imo at least, is that we have to have such a deep defensive line because Williams, Jags and Baines are not quick enough to manage a high line (and Keane, despite being very good, is not very quick either) and when we recover possession the opposition have plenty of time to reorganise. The only player at the back for us who can move the ball quickly and accurately upfield is Pickford and that is a sorry state of affairs. There were serious warning signs at Anfield, when Mane knew to just run in a straight line long enough to lose Williams and make a straightforward turn towards goal.
Dread to think of him chasing Salah.

Correct. But surely everyone at the club knew this, but we still ended up with no CF and Williams (whose level is somewhere between championship and conference level)....doesnt make senseAgree, this is a huge issue for us as a team too, as to compensate for Williams lack of pace our defence has to sit much deeper when we don't have the ball, which just invites pressure, especially against teams like Liverpool who move the ball very quickly.
Not signing a competent centreback to partner Keane may be just as hurtful to our chances this season as not replacing Lukaku.
Not many I agree but their better than WilliamsNeeds to be dropped.
Problem is we don't have many options.
4 leauge games, 4 europa league games, 2 internationals and the tail end of last season. Not 5 games. How many would be a long rough patch?5 games?
Dread to see him chase nearly every forward in the Prem.
