Khalekan

Player Valuation: £80m
Anyone remember the day we beat Saints 7-0 on the last day of the 1985/86 only to still miss out on the title because the RS won at Chelsea?

We needed them to be beaten and early doors there was a great cheer went around Goodison as a sadly erroneous rumour circulated that Chelsea had taken the lead?

I was reminded of that on Thursday night when a great roar went up from the direction of the Main Stand and within thirty seconds the whole stadium seemed to singing "I never felt more like singing the Blues".

This time the rumour was true and the RS had been beaten.

It took a long time but the wait was woth it....;)

6-1 Khalekan;):)

Painful day that.

Then we had a shootout with West Ham for 2nd/3rd the following midweek... which had r/s lost couldve been a title decider, reckon the East End printers had been busy cos the away end was bursting at the seams with what I reckon was 1 of the biggest away followings to come.
Smashed 'em as well, think its the highest they've ever finished ?

The rumours came through that the darkness were losing and we were banging the goals in for fun, as we need to overhaul a goal difference of about 8 I think. Had the rumour been true, we would have won by a cricket score.

Stop it, Dario.....you know this old memory ain't what it once was :(

You will be telling me next I didn't see us beat Saints 9-0 in November 1971 :p

I know the feeling mate;)lol(PS didn't Alex Young get a hat trick in the 9-0 game?;)lol)
Now now lads behave!!! You nearly had me there!!
That Soton game was bitterly disappointing. Rumour had it it was RS supporters who had come to GP caused the belief things were going our way. Grrr.

Can well believe that alley, although it was probably "Jimmy,Jimmy,Jimmy,Jimmy S*******e Case" who started it as he was playing for the Saints that day I'm sure;)lol

Yeah, was funny, there was plenty of people with small battery operated radio sets in Goodison that day trying to keep track of what was going on, great drama.

Who remembers half times on the hearts clubs diamonds and spades?

Me and my mates were in the enclosure and there was a woman leaning over from the front of the main stand shouting that the rs were getting beat, if I ever see her again I'll be having words.

gets booked at end & his behaviour starts a brawl in which Reidy & Danny Wallace are at each other... they live round corner from each other these days.
As an aside, about twenty years ago I had a business appointment at an address in Worsley, was meeting this fella at his house on a new estate, before sat nav obviously, found this new estate but could I find the right address could I heck?In desperation as i was getting late for the appointment I rang the bell at this random house, the bedroom window flew open and a perspiring, bare chested Danny Wallace tells me to Eff off,I'd obviously spoiled his "afternoon delight"lollollol

His Grandson is same age as my lad, played against him a few times and run him ragged, Danny is on walking Sticks these days as has MS. Rod was always with him & a lads Dad was telling me other week he had been renting a house off him, Danny had paid the deposit and advanced some rent, when it ran out Rod didn't pay any more so he had to evict him.

That estate btw, is it on left as you go towards Manc on East Lancs Rd ? cos a few United players moved in there when they were built.
