Australia v Netherlands

Dutch controlled it, but we did well and could have nicked it at the end.

Cahill 45 minutes, Neill and Heitinga the whole game.

That is all.

The moment I wrote my first post, Australia became more lively. Satisfied with the draw, as I obviously had mixed feelings on this match. Absolutely love Oz and the Australians and probably am one of Cahill's biggest fans.

You guys are pretty class Dutch, should have been 3 or 4. Huntelaar will be kicking himself.
We do have the making of a very good team at the moment, I agree. Had a lot of injuries to deal with, but if everyone is fit, healthy and in form, I honestly believe we can make a big impact during the WC 2010 in SA.

The dutch do have some pretty amazing midfielders, and a fairly decent attack.

I'm not too sure abou your defence though. There are good players (Heitinga), but there doesn't seem to be anyone "world class" in there, as there is in your midfield and attack.

Could let you down.:(

The defence is the worrying part, I agree. It's a shame Dirk Marcellis seems to have totally lost his way at PSV, as he was very promising defensively wise. There are rumours at the moment, that a defender at FC Twente, named Douglas will try to get the Dutch nationality. Would be great news, as he's pacey, physical and a very strong no nonsense defender. Exactly what we're looking for. Also, no way Khalid Boularouz will be playing at RB, as soon as van der Wiel is fit. Secretly hoping for an injury to van Bronckhorst, so Edson Braafheid (Bayern Munich) can take his place. Also, it's a public secret that Edwin van der Sar will be in the Dutch squad for SA.

In midfield we'll hopefully have de Jong and van Bommel as a partnership and there is a chance RVN (horseface as you like it) will come out of international retirement.

Get those two as a base and allow th likes of Sneijder, Van der Vaart ans Robben to work there magic.

Could be looking like this:

--------------------------van der Sar----------------------------

------------------Heitinga-----------Mathijssen (hopefully Douglas)

van der Wiel--------------------------------------------Braafheid

------------------van Bommel--------De Jong--------------------

-------------------------van der Vaart---------------------------

van Persie----------------------------------------------Elia------

-------------------------van Nistelrooij---------------------------

Sorry, but it's a fact for me. RVN was first choice at PSV, Man United and Real Madrid, Huntelaar only at Ajax. I know he got a rough deal at Madrid, but he's also at the bench at Milan. RVN is the 2nd best out and out Dutch striker I ever seen for me. Marco van Basten being the obvious number one.
