Can you really not think of any austrians active in the late 30s who were prone to violence? I think one of them was quite famous. Adolf something.

They didn't resist much when the Nazis went looking for lebenstraum, bit of a wet drab really.
The Nazis had everyone fighting for them, even Russians.

According to the Guardian it was just a pitch invasion. The guy reporting from the stadium made it sound much worse. Then again the Spanish do tend to exaggerate. I should have known better. Lazy journalism on my part.

Rip up a few seats, run around on the pitch and then go home and pretend you were almost like them Serbs and Italians for a moment.
"Lebenstraum" is actually a pretty good play on words, chico. One up on reidy.
("Lebenstraum" is "your life's dream" - or something like that - which sounds all moody and Wagnerian and is probably an effect they would have appreciated, but "Lebensraum" ("living space") is what they were actually after in the east.)
When they marched in, with very little resistance and a lot of support, that was the "Anschluss".

clearly he mucked it all up, as lebensraum is a phrase coined in 1901.
lebensraum when refering to Adolf is living space: Sadly it means the subjugation of the people of Eastern Europe for the benefit of the Aryan Race. It's all part & parcel of what made the Nazi ideas of social interaction so reprehensible. i dont recall Austria being 'in the east'.
i though that was just 'the french way'.
