This is a very good read -

This is one of the 2 reasons I stopped going to away games, that and the singing of all the republican bile they all spout ( that’s for another day),

This thread is for the discussion of away fans standing in non safe standing areas, it’s not just Celtic fans it seems to be all away fans from what I’ve seen on tv from English and European fans - why do it? I really don’t get it.

Reasons why I think it’s wrong

. Your paying good money for a seat.
. Blocking other fans views.
. Maybe you can but other folk can’t stand for 90 mins.
. When standing mean you inadvertently move onto the isles and block the stairway’s then creates a bigger health and safety problem.
. I think it could stop the younger generation from attending because if and adult is standing, they can’t see then they stand on seat then the person behind them can’t see so they might not want to to go back…. Why would you?.

Be interesting to see response from this.

I'm all for standing i think it adds to the atmosphere not sure how but for me it just does.
Football was better and atmospheres were better before all these all seater stadiums came in. (yes i understand why)

This is just my opinion but being seated gets spectators in who just sit and watch (many scrolling through whats app or social media during the game) and standing gets fans/supporters in, people who are vocal and help create an atmosphere good or bad.

Stewards in Scotland tried telling folk to sit down, but gave up.
So it's really up to the clubs .
Is there really such thing as a non safe standing area?
Your clubs singing corner has been standing before the barriers went up,so arguably get your own house in order?
As an aside, you try sitting at pittodrie in that away section, you'd probably get frostbite.

When we're away, my son stands on the seat like I sat on my ol' man's shoulders or on the crush barrier. It may not be for some, but for many it's in the culture.

We have safe standing, it doesn’t make a better atmosphere because it’s still only that corner who sing at Celtic park, was the same when was all seated.
I know the Celtic fans stand, that’s why I stopped going, that and the singing.

Just go the one game then?
Unfortunately, expecially at away games the song sheets tend to glorify atrocities.
And yes most clubs do the same.
