Transfer Rumour Axel Witsel

I'm genuinely baffled by people on here.

Where is the actual proof Witsel is dragging his heels? He got back from holiday a week ago and has since then returned to training at the club that pays his wages.

That's it.

People's imaginations are an amazing thing.
If @The Esk is correct we have agreed a fee and terms so it can only be that he is dragging his heels - unless Mr Esk is wrong

Exactly! It's because of press stories though, 'people' like to say they don't believe the press and press tweets (Italy etc The sun etc) then when things don't happen on their private timelines of expectation and then they have a go at the club, or the player, (or the ITKer may I say) whereas the player and the club are not aware of these little kingdoms of imaginations being dreamt up and the frothing at the mouths. I want it.. I WANT IT NOWWWW. It is, as others have posted, very Veruca Salt behaviour.

The lad's a monster, irredeemably sullied in the eyes of all Evertonians because he's daring to take his time and choose what's best for him.

In many ways, he's worse than Hitler.

So when should he sign then?

If he had other offers on the table from other clubs it makes sense that he and his reps (mainly his reps probably) would want to hold out to see if Zenit decided to also accept an offer from one of the other clubs.

Look, I'd like us to sign him, but similarly if we don't then we'll move on. But this idea that Witsel is a source of evil and a horrid person or whatever really needs kicking in the teeth, so to speak.

Don't want him now. Other than a very cool sounding name, I can't honestly say I think he's anything special, and he doesn't seem rabid to join, arguing over image rights etc.. Frankly I don't care how good a footballer someone is I wouldn't want anyone so vain and greedy to be part of the club. Might impact on the dressing room.

The ball is in his court but as is often the case offers can have limited shelf lives.

I suppose this will be his last big move. He clearly wants to move but probably sees himself as a CL player and so wants that guaranteed too. That is a big problem these days with players. It isn't the 'Champions League' as such, more so the prestige of the club in the eyes of the casual tv fan (Kante leaving the champions for mid table Chelsea a prime example).

I would expect our offer to be more than acceptable for Witsel's team, just that he is aware that he will have to earn the spotlight he craves rather than have it handed on a plate to him, like most modern day mercenary footballers desire.
