bad news about my Penny

well guys, despite all the positive stuff we've had thus far, today I heard what I least wanted to hear, Penny has less than 25% chance of survival beyond 6 months or so.
Damn it, damn it.
I just can't get my head around it at all.
They have always been so positive, this morning it was all bad, bad news.
I have always said that she would not have any more surgery after this anyway but it would no longer be an option.
She's lying in front of the fire now, looks perfectly healthy, snoring away after the nice walk we've just had.
Damn it.

It breaks your heart when you love and care for them and then something like this happens.

We lost a pony about 2 years ago and I can't even bring myself to think about him (he got stuck in a bog and couldn't get up again). But at least that was quick.

Your wee Penny sounds like a lovely dog. And at least she's unaware of all the unfolding trauma. She's probably enjoying all the added attention she getting from you!

Seriously, I'm really sorry things look bleak. But there's still that 25% chance to hold onto at the moment.

Go and give your girl a hug! :)(y)

I had the same news years ago and prepared the wife and daughter for the worst,it was 4 years before he died and he was the most spoilt dog ever for those years so keep positive and good luck(y)
 
I'm genuinely sorry to hear your news BL, i honestly never expected this outcome.

Spoil her, who knows, she may haa quality of life way beyond the six months quoted to you.

Gutted for you, really don't know what else to say.
 

that is horrible. it really is tragic to know this news while the pet is unaware. you just have to be brave and spoil her to the max.
 
Like everyone else really sorry to hear that but like everyone else says spoil her more than ever and you'll both enjoy the time together. be it 6 months or 6 years. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's the latter.
 

thanks guys, it's going to be a difficult time but you can guarantee that Penny and her two 'sisters' will be spoilt rotten.
 
not gone to the match today, gave my ST to a friend. My nerves are so shredded this week that if I went to the game I'd end up snotting some ******** kopite and ending up in Styal prison.

First time I've missed a match in ages but there'll be plenty more footy but not so many beautiful sunny days with my Penny. So, best stay here, away from the temptation to kick some red shirted fuckwit in the nuts.
