Upon receiving a PM, a visitor message and reading one or two snide comments made on the forum regarding a recent ban of 'Azzbot', I thought I should clarify the situation.
Some had considered the ban unwarranted, saying his recent posts didn't warrant a ban. I would just like to remind those concerned that he was still banned from last time. He posted porn, abused members, abused the reputation system by leaving abuse and signing others names. All this inevitably forced three suspensions through mounting infractions (of which were fully explained to him by myself in emails) and eventually, forced a ban. If we ban someone and they register again moments later and post saying "hello", it doesn't mean its a fresh start and we've banned them for saying "hello".... Understand?
I'm astounded people have the audacity to challenge bans of Azzbots nature in the immature, inappropriate channels that they have. Especially to the degree they have. I suspect it’s more of any excuse to challenge the moderation of the forum.
We couldn’t have been any more lenient with him; he racked up over 3,000 posts on one of his six accounts… receiving countless infractions and suspensions before it was decided enough was enough.
I would also like to remind a select few that a considerable amount of volunteered time is spent maintaining these forums. We always actively attempt to avoid banning anyone because afterall - our purpose is to provide a platform for all Evertonians but there comes a time when we have to. The proofs in the pudding in that we've only permanently banned three established members in three years.
Lastly - the priority on this site will always be to allow Evertonians to post without receiving needless abuse. No amount of snide remarks/anonymous emails/profile messages will alter this priority.
Thanks.
