:@:@:@...Those stupid horns in the Confederations Cup...Its put me off watching it all together, whats the point?!

If the World Cup is as bad as this i wont be watching :@:@:@

Hopefully the fact that a high percentage of fans will be from the countrys taking part in the World Cup, rather than just from SA will help.

Confederations Cup - FIFA to discuss trumpets - Yahoo! Eurosport UK

Spain midfielder Xabi Alonso said: "I think they should be banned. They make it very difficult for the players to communicate with each other and to concentrate.

"They are a distraction and do nothing for the atmosphere,"

Poor Shabby doesnt like them.

i was just thinking this. they are a nightmare. my bird who usually ignores the footy when it is on the box made a point of complaining to ME about the noise.

i'm going to take this matter to the top.

When I first heard them i thought they were mosquitos or something

Got to go:@

Don't think it will be as bad in the WC to be honest, for a couple of reasons. The big exception being SA's games of course.

1. The nations playing the game will have a fairly large alotment of the tickets.
2. FIFA & UEFA will have their share of tickets
3. The prizes will be higher during the WC, so many native southafricans won't be able to enter the games. And I can't see traveling supporters buying these horns to use in the games.

If they are good enough for Peanuts then they are good enough for me

Im getting one for Goodison

it'll have to be a loud one lid cos mine can carry for 5 miles at sea, it's all in the note emitted apparently, and mine is a deep throaty roar, yours will sound like a micra next to a v8 (even with little b.o.g parping it)

Get used to it, I'd agree that it could be annoying, but thats our style and it would hardly be a South African world cup without those horrible horns that make our soccer games different (y)

“It is African culture, we are in Africa and we have to allow them to practice their culture as much as they want to," he told reporters.

So they're allowed to do that but the English aren't allowed to fight, which is certainly our culture?

I've only seen one match, and it was fcuking horrible. Not only would I ban those damned things, I would also seek medical help those that insist on using them. It's enough to send you round the bend. It's psychological torture.
