My 2nd favourite part of the planet after the Lake District.

I support the Welsh I'm defending their culture, language and identity. I wish the English would do the same in the assault from over the Atlantic where they brainwash us into eating cheap cuts of meat and line dancing to achy breaky heart instead of celebrating our own catalogue of folk history.

However, to me whatever its called officially to me it will still be the Brecon Beacons - that's the English term for it.... just as the English term for Germany is Germany not Deutschland.

…..when my daughter was studying Medicine at Liverpool, two of her closest friends were from the Valleys and it was terrific hearing them talking Welsh when ringing home. Happy to say they remain close to this day despite them returning home. it’s a language that should be celebrated.

Perhaps we can rename some Liverpool landmarks in Scouse dialect. West Daaaby, Gaarsten etc.

I never understand why they have English name anyway, well i guess its to attract tourists, I've spend a lot of time in Blaenau Ffestiniog that hasnt got an English name as far as i know, same Bala, Betws y Coed.

Anglesey need to do the same Ynys Môn from now on

Very good point, there`s loads of places that haven`t got English names.

As an example, I can`t think of a single place in the likes of Llyn Peninsula, that has an English name.

The area commonly known as The Brecon Beacons will in future be referred to officially by its Welsh name, as it should be. Yr Wyddfa (snowdon) next and order in the galaxy will go some way to being restored.

*(Goes back to speaking welsh when the english enter the thread).

Nasty cold you got there !!!
