Bans - A Suggestion

@GrandOldTeam and the mod team.

Loads of posters say they're not arsed about how many likes they have so how about linking each ban receives to their number of likes ?

So ...

A two day ban would result in losing 10% of your likes, seven days 25% and fourteen days or more 50%

This would have the added bonus of seeing Chico, Tommye, davek, Moomin, Boss Blue, Sapie, Prevenger and orly slowly slide down the Notable Members list and would allow the meek to inherit GOT.

Meekly yours

There should just be a page with the list of banned people, how long they are banned for,how many bans they have-does chico have the most bans etc,the reason they are on the current ban,no one knows whos banned sometimes, till someone says were is this person [whoever it might be] ,or till they might click on there username etc. lol

There should be a "banned members" forum in addition to the ones already on here.

They can only post in there alongside other banned posters, and cannot create new threads or like things. Only the mods can create new threads.

Proper Guantanamo. Ace

You do realise that such a place would be the most entertaining place in the forum. Much like when, at any kind of event, all the best craic is outside with the smokers and all the best info is shared in workplace smoking areas (no grade structure whilst smoking.)

Some thoughts on suspensions (bans are a different matter because, as far as I'm aware, a ban is a ban is a ban and you dont come back from that):

  • anyone suspended from the forum still gets to view all forums and not just the Everton Forum.
  • suspended posters could still get to pm but not post in the forums (dont know if that's possible from the technical side) but, of course, if a suspension was for arguing with certain other posters that they be blocked from PMing them.
  • if a suspension is for multiple disputes over non-Everton stuff on the other forums, dont suspend them from the Everton Forum (and vice-versa)
  • when someone initially receives a suspension they get a PM explaining their suspension (what for and how it transgressed the rules) - but when you're suspended you cant read it as you cant get access to the PM facility.

The above would be designed to keep those suspended involved with GOT and not see leakage of members. As they're not banned presumably there's a will to keep them involved in the community and not to punish any further than simply not being able to post (at all or in the forum they're blocked on).

These are all really good suggestions.

...would probably cut down on this:

There are too many multis to talk about suspension conditions.

There are too many multis to talk about suspension conditions.

I think the multi accounts are largely fable. The vast majority of posters dont have them. And if anyone suspended attempts to sign up with another account then (presumably) any new member's details will be cross-checked. In any case, most suspensions are for short periods and it wouldn't be logical to sign up for another account.

I've just noticed that list. How on earth did MoutsGoat get almost 50,000 likes?!

I can only think he gets most of them for bullying me.
