Battery Drain

not sure what’s been going on the last couple of days, but my phone’s getting VERY hot (uncomfortably so) and battery is draining at an alarming rate (like 20% in half an hour) when browsing the forum. Only happens on GOT too

Usually have Adblock off on here, but tried turning it on and the problem stopped.

Seems like there’s some weird ads causing processor overload or something.

My IPad did that and it turned out to be a swollen battery. Apparently they can be quite dodgy, fire risk. Is there any evidence of the phone bulging? The screen of my IPad lifted up like a balloon when it happened to me

No. It’s a brand new phone, and as I said, it only happens on this site. Also doesn’t happen with ad block on. Neither of which would be the case if it was a hardware issue

If it doesn't already have one, get a battery monitor app to poss track down the drain

You're on your own there...I'm allergic to Apple. Sounds like you've already narrowed down the issue but IDK what would be pinning your proc down that badly, even if it was an ad; you'd have to monitor it page by page with AB off, which sucks.

Our ad network is the same across pretty much the entire internet. Just within EFC, we're the same as ToffeeWeb, NSNO etc etc

Our ads are definitely, definitely not causing your phone to overheat. If it was, you'd have the problem on pretty much every website that has ads, and/or your phone would be faulty for being unable to handle basic scripts/resource.

Sure it wasn't when we had the snow on the site?

45 minutes at 200°C should sort it.

Air fryer...20 mins should suffice.

Yeah, I had that turned off
