Beluga celebration... Any good?

I expect it will taste of vodka.

Unless its one of the new flavoured, sweetened drinks for adults who are still children.
I don’t like sweetened alchoholic drinks, but I am definitely an adult who is still a child.

You say it like its a bad thing.

There's a time and a place. But I've seen society infantalise adults, though advertising and magazine culture, for the sake of commercialism, whereby they can sell cheap tat expensively (like sugar) and new gimmicks prey on the need for the latest fad. Not too much damage you'd think - but it discourages sophistication and erodes quality.

To illustrate, present the thousands of different chemically flavoured gins, that take a few days to manufacture in vats, that now compete with whiskies that take decades to mature into complex rounded flavours .... all competing at the same price point. I'd hate to see the enormously profitable and shallow gin fad force a change in whisky quality in order to compete.

Won’t happen. Or, won’t happen for established whiskeys anyway.

Like you said 'fad'. Few years ago it was prosecco bursting out of every taverna, now people have woken up to the fact that it aint as quality as champagne unless you pay crazy prices like you mention equate at price point. Why have marge when you can have butter.
Anyway, the real story here. Hows the boss getting on in the boat 4 or 5 days a week? Can I blame this recent change in dynamic on the tapering off of the new kitchen thread? What new tools you eyeing up for the workshop (none of this 'there's no room' bluster, there's not a workshop owner in the land that cant rejig for that one* last thing)

I'd hope not .... but look what happened to cider. Struggle to find a decent scrumpy in pubs today as they're full of sweet fizzy offerings from the chemistry set.

I spent 2 days cleaning the workshop before we went off on a cruise to Norway. Now we're home i spent a day repairing damage done to my loudspeakers* last May I think, by a dog my wife was babysitting. My first non-kitchen related workshop work since August. It ain't finished yet but I'm in the "it'll take 10 years to do the last 1% phase.

*£50 and a day to repair the speakers and £300 parts and a day from a pal to repair the valve amp the reckless hound destroyed!
