Bentley to Spurs

A vastly over rated player, and a relief that we won't even be contemplating parting with a single penny for the big headed ponce.

What pisses me off about this is.........

Spurs put a bid in a few days ago, of about 16m. B'burn turn it down. Spurs com back with an 18m bid, Bburn accept.

No fukkin around, no taking the piss with shitty little bids. They knew they wanted the player an they went an got him.

We should take a leafe out of their book on how to buy players.

What a fukkin Joke, even Fulhan have signed 6-7 players!!

This is the Moyes way, and personally I fully endorse it. I get the feeling that he knows full well how football is currently fleecing its supporters and therefore tries to spend the clubs money as if its his own. He knows what value a player represents and doesn't go above that. He knows what kind of personality he wants in the club and doesn't break the bank with wages in order to sign the latest fancy dan.

In the past we've 'lost out' on the likes of Parker and Bellamy because they wanted to go to 'bigger clubs', that just so happened to throw the bank at them, and with hindsight we havn't missed out on any of them. The list of players we've missed out on that have subsequently bitten our frugal nature on the behind is incredibly small, much smaller than the gems we've unearthed as a result of this policy.

Its NOT the Everton way:lol:

ahhh what are we doing? 18mil on a player not worth mroe then 11mil?
now were getting arshavin as well where does it all fit?

gomez
hutton-woodgate-king-bale
zokora
arshavin-modric
bentley-berba\bent-dos santos

very promising on the front (better then liverpool's front) but fragile in the back

this season could either be huge for us or it could be awful

He isn't 1/2 the player that Valencia is on the right wing. Ironically Valencia is probably only worth 1/2 as much as Bentley though.

Yep Spurs are definatley splashing some cash, but all on attackers. Possibly Pavyluchenko replacing berbatov too.

tottenham are fast becoming the new newcastle. if the moutinho rumour is true and we've picked him up for 17m euros (yes euros) then what they have paid for modric and bentley and what they are preparing to pay for arsh and pav it simply negligent.

they can do whatever business they want in the manner they want but i only pray that never becomes the way we conduct business.

I think Spurs are going to be a big threat this season. They seemed to coast it in the PL last year once they knew Europe wasn't an option, but on their day they are a match for most teams in the PL.

maybe not newcastle then, just a mini chelsea - throwing money here and there. the best buy they have had in the last year has been ramos. if they are going to challenge it will be because of him.

Theyve just gone in for that Russian Centre Forward!

Tottenham have held talks with Spartak Moscow striker Roman Pavlyuchenko, BBC Sport understands.

The 26-year-old Russia international met representatives from the north London club last week, although no deal has been agreed yet.

The £15m-rated Pavlyuchenko impressed during Euro 2008, scoring three goals.

Spurs are also believed to be keen to sign his Russia team-mate Andrei Arshavin, although Zenit St Petersburg claim they have not been approached.

Arshavin, who also shone at Euro 2008, played against CSKA Moscow at the weekend and may yet remain at Zenit this season.

Tottenham boss Juande Ramos has already spent about £45m on transfer fees which has seen forward Giovani
Dos Santos, midfielders Luka Modric and David Bentley and goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes arrive at the club this summer.

They recouped some of that money with the £20.3m sale of Robbie Keane to Liverpool, the £3.5m spent by Blackburn for keeper Paul Robinson and the transfers of Steed Malbranque, Pascal Chimbonda and Teemu Tainio to Sunderland.

It has also been widely reported that fellow forward Dimitar Berbatov will leave White Hart Lane before the start of the season.
The Bulgaria international did not appear in the 5-1 defeat of Leyton Orient on Wednesday and also did not feature in Monday's game at Norwich.

well we actually only spent 4 mil thsi summer

spent-43 M
got back 39M (keane, steed, robbo, tainio, chimbonda)

and berba still may live so we still have all the money we need to buy players

now veloso is linked to us...god this season scares the [Poor language removed] out of me it could be huge or it could be crap
