Who do you think is the best free kick scorer so far ?

I don't want to talk about these snobbish arrogant overrated ****s like Lampard, Gerrard, Ballack, Ronaldo etc. I want to discuss about the real experts.

As I was born in 71 I had the pleasure to watch two of the best free kick scorers of the 80ies ever live - Antonin "Tondo" Panenka (CZE) and Mario Kempes (ARG). Both ended their glorious career by playing in the Austrian first division before they retired but they still were game as feck (expect their haircuts:D).

Panenka played for Austrian record champion Rapid Vienna and Kempes for First Vienna FC.

Roberto Carlos - if only for 'that' banana free-kick, before all these new fancy balls that move all over the place.

Jose Luis Chilavert deserves a mention as well just for being a free-kick specialist keeper!

Carlos's free kick was unbelievable but his percentage of free kicks scored is woefull.

Hagi for me stands out as he seemed to be able to curl one into the top corner from miles away

Juninho's a good shout.

I'm assuming you mean the Lyon one, was on the French highlight show just about every other week with a cracker.

Nakamura's had more than a few out of the top drawer as well.

Sheedy for me, even though before my time, i've seen many videos and hihlights of his set pieces, definately should have been a brazillian :)

Against Ipswich Town I believe, absolutely superb two attempts, top right which had to be retaken, then placed it in the opposite corner, as well as the Free Kick against the S***e at Analfield

But Bainesy could prove to be a vital part of our squad if he is given more set pieces, Arteta is great and all but he wastes too many opportunies i my opinion. Maybe let bainesy have corners on the right side and free kicks 30 yards out, Arteta left Corner Kicks and Free Kicks just outside the box.

With the aerial presence we have (Cahill, Fellaini, Yobo, Yak, Saha, Jags etc) we need quality balls whipped in. Sorry for going off on one btw :D
