What was the best match you ever watched, not involving Everton.


The FA cup semi final replay in 1999 between Arsenal and Man Utd stands out for me. Close game, 90th minute penalty save from Arsenal, then 'that goal' by Ryan Giggs.

England against Brazil at the world cup in 1970 also stands out. What a great game, some of the greatest players ever on the pitch. Brilliant save by Gordon Banks amongst the highlights.

Wouldn't know which one to pick.

The 1979 FA cup final was brilliant - one of the only non Everton games that sticks in my mind to this day.

Best team lost imo, but what a game. Platini (the sublime footballer, not the beaurocrat), Giresse, Tigana.

Best game I ever attended was the Brazil v Italy game Second Round of the 1982 World Cup in Barcelona.

Game finished 3-2 to Italy with Paolo Rossi scoring a great hat-trick.

The best club side ever for me. They beat Johann Cruyff's Dream Team of Romario, Koeman, Laudrup, Stoikov et al 4-0 in the final a few years later as well.

if we are talking matches attended then arsenal v redshoite, league cup final,and champagne charlie was his name !! the first time r/s got beat when big-conk rush had scored.

100th manc derby stands out as well, as i was on the pitch before and at 1/2 time, standing before a packed to bursting stretford end, on the pen spot.
