Big team favouritism...

Anyone of the thought that were getting treatment similar to what we used to accuse the so called big teams of receiving? Favourable decisions, i.e. no Pickford ban. Digne red card reduced..? Because usual 'Everton that' we'd never have had positive outcomes usually.. are we getting treated differently this season due to our form and/or manager possibly?

We might benefit from having that star turn that makes us a saleable brand for the sky bt overlords who pull the strings of the pantomime.

Can at least enjoy the ride for a change, but I wish it were a sport again, rather than a script. Would mean so much more if we achieved something.

No it will balance itself out over the season.
This...

Getting too into it will not be good for you... I used to know a United fan (before they got decent) who would bring up every injustice all the time. It was so irritating but the majority of his ire was always directed at the kopites. Even got wound up about them causing our European ban.

Always whinging... Must've been miserable for him.

I would've liked to have seen his opinions during the successful years that came a few years later

I don't know man. Being objective I have noticed that Liverpool have had a lot of very iffy decisions go against them this season, as have we. But to be honest I was more surprised with the ones against Liverpool as I had come to expect them with us whereas I thought they were the darlings!

VAR is ruining the game frankly and it would be naive with all the mafioso characters invested in football these days (the biggest of whom literally are now pushing for a fail-proof business model) to believe there is no such thing as corruption within the game.

Just been watching Garry Neville's soccerbox today (it really is great). It makes me nostalgic for those times to be honest as they were more innocent footballing times! Was watching some of the legendary goals that are now premiership history and thinking: if that goal was scored most of these legendary goals would probably have been disallowed on account of some minor push/shove!

I know corruption has probably always existed in football to a degree but today it just seems like a reflection of the wider political situation. Rampant corruption and zero accountability.

Gets my goat that as well. We are an elite club. We currently dont have an elite team, but, (and prepared to be corrected), we are the only founding member of the Football League and the Premier League, in the top flight of English football.

4th most successful club in English history. Out of the top flight 4 seasons in 132 years. Massive spenders.

What clubs boast that outside the 'top 6'?

None.

Right now we have a top class manager who's one of the most respected people in world football when he talks he's listened to and his words on decisions and refereeing performance are analyzed and discussed our previous managers were dismissed and ignored by media and pundits.. now referees know if they get something wrong and Carlo calls them out they'll have their performance looked at, so are more likely to give us more of the 50/50 decisions.
