Which country do you think will prove to be the biggest dissapointment at the current upcoming World Cup in SA? I personally predict Portugal. Don't think they'll make it through the group stages, with Brazil and the Ivory Coast proceeding to the next stage.
 


I have doubts over New Zealand's capability to even get through the group stages so I think they will be massive flops.

Seriously, France could make a early exit considering the teams in their group - Mexico, South Africa and Uruguay - not easy at all.
 
I'm pretty unimpressed with Italy's squad this year. If you look how a vast number of the senior names in the squad have performed this season and in recent seasons, it really looks as though Lippi is choosing players based off his past success with them from the last World Cup. I think they'll perform quite badly.

I imagine North Korea will be quite crap as well as New Zealand.
 
England. They haven't been convincing in recent games, may squeeze through the group stage (in second place to USA :P ), but cant see them going any further.

Too many arrogant mercenaries riding on the over inflated expectations of the nation.

Sorry, but still pee'd of that Baines is not going - not going to support a team that includes Steevie G and Carralaa.
 
Germany. They'll make it out of the group stage (not ahead of serbia, though), but without ballack they wont do much.
 

If we consider a flop to be someone who falls below expectations, we can't really include teams like New Zealand as they're not really expecting to get through the first fase. I'm going to say Brazil. Favourites along with Spain, I don't think they'll get past the QF. Which will be a flop for them
 
Spain, expectations are too high, so only making the quarter finals will be a flop.

Brazil, the same, pretty much.

Argentina, best players in the world, Maradona will **** it up.

Ivory Coast, assuming people rate them as highly as DutchToffee does. They've got some right pub players, where Portugal have got more chance of winning the group than not getting out of it. I can really see them performing above expectations.

South Korea, they've really developed their reputation, especially since 2002, but I see them bottom of their group without winning a game.

EDIT: Meant to add my (slightly) leftfield semi-final predictions: England vs Netherlands, Germany vs Portugal.
