GhostOfDixie

Player Valuation: £70m
Sam Allardyce made 11 changes to his side last night. This is a team that is in a relegation battle, so bringing in 11 players who are not capable of being in a relegation battle. With me so far?

Why would he be surprised that his side lost one nil away to Coventry?

I hope he gets relegated, and takes his ******* stupid headset with him!

I always find it strange when managers dont take the FA cup as serious as they should. Yes their league status may be the most important thing, but a good cup run can benefit the club in so many ways. You can earn financially from it, or you can gain confidence from it. It is even possible you can attract better players because of it.

Agreed, three, four or five extra matches a season, shouldn't really be a problem. We're dealing with professionals here, so they should be able to cope with the extra games.

Or maybe they didnt wish to be in the competition anymore. Hes got bigger fish to fry i suppose.

I was just reacting to his anger at his standby players not taking their chance.

Just thought it was strange. Surely when you make that many changes, you must expect to find some kind of difference in performance and consistency.

Yeah, not only are the players considered not good enough to play most games & so are probably a lot worse quality but it gives both sets of players the idea that the manager is not arsed about winning the game.

For your own team it's a chance for those who aren't in the team to impress but it'd be so easy to not be arsed, if a few of the other players didn't fancy it & weren't putting as much effort in, it'd be easy to let your standards dip because the manager obviously isn't too bothered about losing anyway. Also, the opposition would get a huge lift, if you're playing a team from the division below they'll be desperate to win anyway but that would be a huge boost for them.

I can see why he wanted to rest some players, they were never going to win the cup anyway & the extra 2 games for 1st team players (last night's & the quarter final) might have affected some of their peformances & when you're in a relegation battle, it's understandable to not want to have that possibility.

If he's genuinely surprised at getting beat though he's a knobhead

But a cup win against a lesser side is a timely boost when your in a relegation battle.

True, a cup run can be a distraction & it depends on whether you class that as a good thing or a bad thing. If you're getting bad results all the time, a good cup run can build confidence that can help the league form but it can also be a bad thing because it's extra games to play & when a rest could benefit players more so I can understand both ways of thinking.

Personally I'm not a fan of playing a weakened team in the cup because not only can the results affect confidence but it's disrespectful to the competition

This is all true. But then the big giant fat tit head lambasts the lads he put out there. Is he completely devoid of any brains?

Lucky we never brought him in as England boss. He'd call up some 6 year old and then lock him in his room for a week if he didn't score at least 3.

I went to the game with a Cov fan. It was a f##ing shocking game of football. Two very poor sides! Yes Rovers had a weakened team out, but even so! The likes of Tugay, Roberts and McCarthy should have mauled Cov but they really were abysmal! Cov weren't much better though. Chelsea will have no problems dumping them out of the Cup.

**** away support from Blackburn aswell, must have been 450 maximum.

We'll stuff them next week. Robinson is ****e and King Louis doesnt mind having a pop, cant wait to see fat sam stamp his foot, throw his gum on the floor and argue with the 4th official.

About the total of home fans at the Boro game tonight.

Yeah, I haven't heard/read his comments so it'd be wrong to say too much. If he's put out a severely weakened team & slated his players for getting beat by a team from the division below, who would have been desperate to claim their scalp & get a place in the quarter final of the FA cup then he's an absolute ****wit for the reasons already mentioned
