Player Valuation: £20m
With Faddy leaving there seems to be an out pouring of support for him and his erant skills. Over the years there have been plenty of fringe players that you or I have been absolutely convinced will eventually turn a corner and make it. Inchy did it, so did Graeme Touche Sharp. There must be supporters that feel if claus Thomsen was given more time he would have been a world beater for us.

Who is it that sticks in your mind as the player you most backed when all around were giving them down the banks.

Simon Davies was class for me....sort of!

Denis Stevens in the 60s,He was the Lee Carsley of the team and one stray pass brought so much grief it was unbelievable his job was to win the ball and pass it to more skillful players but never seemed to get the credit for winning the ball

gravesen. But not now, his legs/knees are [Poor language removed].

VDM - but again, I stopped thinking he'd make it about 9 months ago.

Simon Davies? After about 6 weeks at Goodison I'd given up on him - I wasn't that overwhelmed when we signed him as well. Could of just kept an ageing Mark Pembridge in [Poor language removed]' mothballs instead.

VDM is a good one as who's to say he still couldn't make it. It is virtually impossible, I know, but we know he as the attributes. I think he is going to be my present Blind Faither until he is given a free.

I know this sounds really daft, but I don't think anyone who got sold on for under performing could have been a legend.

Think of it like this, there is only so many times you go back to a restaurant that's sub standard. You can usually tell within the first 10 games if a player is going to make it.

I remember the restaurant called Nick Barmby. I dined there for a couple of seasons before the food got very tasty indeed. Then the head chef went and and worked at CackDonalds!!!

In other words Ghost, your arguement is supremely flawed and the analogy was garbage;)

Well no it isn't because Barmby was excellent at Everton, he didn't fail as a player like Simon Davies or Faddy did. He just decided to sign for Liverpool, but then the club also decided to sell him to Liverpool.

So how is my argument flawed?

Ok can I retort?

John Collins - at the end of his career, and for me performed well enough for his age.
Materazzi - Ok, he was a tool and still is. Not the kind of player you need when he is always suspended, and from what I hear, he hasn't changed.
Ferrari - I felt he did well enough to justify a move.
O'Kane - Yep, [Poor language removed].
Samways - Ditto
Tony Grant - Braziliant? I don't think so.
Cadamarteri - Brilliant but didn't develop as he should of.
Kroldrup - No need to say more.
Bakayoko - Lazy and poor.
Amokachi - Wasn't played right, I always felt he should have played behind the strikers. Mismanaged in my opinion.
Durrant - 2 games on loan? maybe slightly more. Not enough to judge.
Hughes - Yeah, what the [Poor language removed] happened there? Mismanaged?
Bilic - ???
Williamson - Very very unlucky with injuries
Hottiger - Newcastle reject, say no more.
Barrett - I felt he became an excellent fullback for Everton, he did turn the corner, unfortunately age got the better of him.
Cleland - gash.

Yeah ghost im a sucker for backing our players who arent doing it accept for ADVM he just does my head in! Think Beattie deserves a mention, i think hes caused me to have the most arguments on here! (Weighes up Graveson and Barton threads).

I'm not. If there not good enough, ship em out. We don't have room for stowaways on this ship - draining resources.

Beattie never did it, in come Yak and he's scoring left right and centre. Just some players don't fit in some clubs. There is so many variables.

However, some players succeed at all clubs because they are world class. Yak being one, Anelka being the other. Probably loads more too.
