NHS need some help folks. It takes 5 minutes, costs you nothing, might even get a cuppa and a biscuit. Signed up earlier, piece of cake, and you choose the appointment.

As Mel Gibson didnt say, "They can take our taxes, they can take our hope, but we can give them our blood" Half an arm aint all that. @Groucho

Register here. As others have said, it's easy and the donation centre in town is really nice. You can't just turn up though.

You can only donate about every 3 months. My next one is in about a month.

unfortunately I can't as I have had breast cancer so they won't take mine which is a shame as I have O Neg, when I was a young wench they would never take it because I was under 8 stone at the time.
Glad you've used past tense there then. And well done on beating it if so!
Used to have the same problem. I can now (sigh) albeit it will come with all those 5G tracking devices from my COVID vaccines.
lol at sigh.

On a serious note - I can't really find any information, but is it regulated about people who are recently vaccinated and stuff?

Last time I gave blood was for a friend's dad who was going under for some serious surgery and that was about a year or so ago...

In Bulgaria you get a goodybag type of thing after you donate and then they give you a medical for a day off work if you want/need to. Does the UK do anything like that (I mean the day off obv)?

Nope not at all unfortunately.

Some give you a badge.

We get a goodybag that usually consists of a chocolate (or some other deserty/wafer type of sugary thing), orange juice and/or cola and some random canned foods.

And a plaster/bandage on the bleedy arm obvs.

You get cheap biscuits and tea or coffee usually.

Plus a printed certificate and a little badge.

Very understated, very crap considering I have a rare and valuable blood type (AB+).

Eh, it's something for no effort and helping others, at least...

But I get how it wouldn't cost millions to have like a chocolate bar or something like lol

Different countries different rules I guess.

US pays for blood, according to my wife you get a full meal in Austria.

Britain is tea and a biscuit, got to respect it's so mainlined into it's culture I suppose.
