Who will be playing?
Goodison Park will once again play host to a charity celebrity football match named in memory of the inspirational Bradley Lowery.
The charity match will raise funds for The People’s Place and the Bradley Lowery Foundation.
Kicking off at 3pm on Monday 6 May, the game will see a wide host of former Blues and celebrities lace up their boots for the match which will support The People’s Place, Everton in the Community’s mental health focused fundraising campaign, and the Bradley Lowery Foundation, which supports families fundraising for treatment or equipment not readily available or covered by the NHS.
Evertonian and former WBC World Cruiserweight Champion Tony Bellew will captain The People’s Place XI, whilst Bradley’s Boys will be skippered by EastEnders star Danny Dyer.
It is the second celebrity charity game hosted at Goodison in honour of Bradley, with the first taking place in September 2017 involving Olly Murs and ‘Line of Duty’ star Stephen Graham.
Celebrity names already confirmed for this charity game on May Bank Holiday weekend include Love Island stars Chris Hughes, Jack Fowler, Josh Denzal and Dom Lever as well as reality TV stars James Argent, Dan Osborne and Liam Gatsby. They be lacing up their boots and running out alongside TV personalities Calum Best, Jake Wood, Shayne Ward and Dean Gaffney.
And, in the coming weeks, more celebrity names will be revealed – as well as a host of Blues legends. Young Sunderland supporter Bradley inspired football fans across the country and around the world during his brave battle against Neuroblastoma. Having won the hearts of Evertonians during the Club’s visit to Sunderland’s Stadium of Light in September 2016, a special bond was forged between the Club, its fans and Bradley. He was a special guest at Goodison for two matches in 2017 before sadly losing his fight in July 2017.
Bradley’s mum Gemma Lowery said: “Thank you to everyone at Everton and Sellebrity Soccer for allowing us to be part of this amazing event again and for all the continued support. I’m really looking forward to being down in Liverpool again on the 6th May and I hope to see you all there.”
Everton in the Community CEO Richard Kenyon added: “Our fans have already shown tremendous support for our plans to build a mental health facility in Liverpool 4 and this celebrity charity match gives them another opportunity to contribute whilst having a fun day out with all the family. The day will also provide us with a welcome opportunity to come together again with the Lowery family and celebrate and remember Bradley, an inspirational young boy who we were proud to adopt as one of our own.”
All profits from the 2019 fixture will again be split between Everton in the Community and the Bradley Lowery Foundation. The Club’s official charity will be directing the money towards the build and development of ‘The People’s Place’, a purpose-built mental health facility in the shadows of Goodison Park that will support anyone in times of need. The Bradley Lowery Foundation will be using the funds to create a special holiday home for families supported by the charity.
Arranged in conjunction with the Lowery family, and with the assistance of Sellebrity Soccer, tickets for the charity game will go on sale at www.evertonfc.com and are priced at just £10 for adults and £5 for under 16s.

A wonderful cause and I will 100% be buying a ticket.

However just like last year I do wish they'd made it a Everton legends vs Sunderland legends game as "celebrity" matches hold no interest for me.

All the same i hope loads of people go and enjoy themselves, it's just not for me. I guess I'll just pass my ticket onto to somebody who'll get more out of the experience then I would.

Agree, whilst the 'celebrities' giving of their time to support the causes is admirable a match between former Blues and Black Cats would potentially be of far more interest to footie fans wouldn't it ?

Agreed. And then we wouldn't all have to see Danny Dyers mush.;)

Seriously though it would be great to see players like Defoe and Lukaku take part. I realise that can't happen because we're still in the football season, but the image of the young lad being carried onto the pitch by Big Rom will live with me forever.

I live in the Channel Islands so would not be able to attend this match. However, because of the cause I would like to buy a ticket but make sure it goes to a blue (or a mackem, I suppose) that would be otherwise unable to go. Is there anyone who could help me facilitate this? Please PM.

I didn't realise that there was a set charity, thanks for that, will be making a donation on payday! Although it would be nice to have the ground somewhat full to show we still care. Bradley touched all of our hearts and Evertonians made him an honorary blue. Would be nice to let his parents and extended family know that we still care!

Thinking on it some more. Anyone can make a few quid donation to a charity. At the time Sunderland came to Goodison, I believe a couple of years ago now? We made a big deal of it. The whole random celebrity thing is a bit offputting to be honest but it would be nice to see a good attendance at Goodison to remind everyone who was close to Bradley, and even those who don't remember that we blues think he was a special kid and deserves a good turn out. So, easier yes, but I think it would defeat the point.

I have a young child, who thankfully is fit and healthy and a pain in my backside. I can't imagine what his family went through and will still be going through. A somewhat full goodison would let them know that people still care.

After seeing that list of non entity celebrities??.? i wish i lived in the Channel Islands.

The so called celebrities like some i have not heard of may actually get more people to the game like kids etc,and even older people may know them better than the players,as kids and co like to see these celeb's more than players and some will go just for the celeb's
