I think he's fast enough and fit enough to get up and down and with confidence and more time playing in that position then his attacking game will definitely improve. Look how much he's come on so far since his debut.

Frustrating how he always turns back inside and plays the simple ball, to be expected though from a CB. Be good to have baines back though to add to our attacking play

Killed our forward momentum every time it was played out to him on the left.

It's a shame, because I really do rate him. It's just a bit of coaching required to get him to push it down the line and go for a cross now and then.

He's decent and coming along well but I dont think he should make first team when Baines is back. If not for our LB deficit right now I'd say loan him out to someone in the championship.

He reminds me at times of a 19 year old forward who's been suddenly given his chance in the first team. When he gets forward he appears in some incredible positions but not always where someone can pass to him, and when they do he's almost startled to find himself close to the goal with the ball and doesn't finish it off. It'll come . His ability to take up positions in the opposing box is better than Baines or Coleman , but when they go into the box they are usually driving the ball with them and shooting or passing. I like Oviedo, but Galloway needs as much exposure as he can get as he's in a phenomenal moment of playing.

Did not deserved to be dropped, as Oviedo is now injured again!

totally agree, strange decision by Martinez.

Thought just crossed my mind, has he now played more league games for us than Oviedo ?

He's impressed me in a way that Oviedo never .... and I can't understand how people can complain about his forward play. He should have scored today .. from a position you'd never see Baines or Oviedo in. Better defender too.

Never a full back for me, but I'd have him ahead of baines any day. Him and stones could be our centre half partnership for a decade

this. He is so scared of going down the wing and try to make things happen.

Hes obviously learning the position. Scared. Give the kid a break.

He is continually in the opposition's final third; nearly scored today. Nearly scored v Arsenal.

Its his first season. I think your being overly harsh in the extreme.

He's a centre back and going to be boss there eventually, expecting him to bomb on like Baines is unrealistic

It's not unrealistic while he's playing fullback.

It's a tactical adjustment he needs to make, it has nothing to do with ability or how he's wired.

Anyone can run down a wing and sling a ball over. I'm not saying he needs to be as good at it as Baines, just give it a crack.

He's playing out of position but doing so well purely because of how good an athlete he is.

He's going to be a fantastic centre-half in the long run.
