Leighton taking control, wasn't he a dad at 17-18? I'm sure he was, and hid it from his teammates at Wigan because he was shy.

I think he'll go down as one of my favorite Everton players of all time, class act.

Any player that stays off the front pages of the tabloids and conducts himself well with the club and the fans, is alright in my book..

Sound Bainesy.

Yeah word.

I said after the Man U game, that while Moyes and minimoyes were shouting and screaming at the ref Baines walked up, shook the officials hands and walked off (from what i saw anyway).

There's a thin line between being a pushover Mr nice guy, and having some respect and acting like a decent person.

Agreed, he comes across really well in interviews aswell.

Then you see his performances on the pitch. Always takes the ball under pressure, positive and forward thinking in his play and always back it up with a good work ethic. He's a top class professional.

I remember when he wasn't getting in the team behind Lescott several people on here were saying he should demand a transfer.

Instead he kept his head down, got on with his job and has made that position his own instead of sulking and demanding to play.

I'm agreeing with all of this.

Factor in the fact that he's our most consistent player, and probably the only one to play really well this season, and well, he'll be going down as one of my favourite ever players too.
